I don't know whether to "Like" your post or not, Mike. That's a fine knife but the leak in your roof sucks. I hope you got it fixed.Got 2.75 inches of rain Thursday night and 3.1 inches last night. My roof which had no leaks prior to this, leaked
The roof is of the age it needs to be replaced sometime in the next year, but it was holding up pretty good. Found out I lost part of a shingle and a couple of nails vibrated out and punched through. Better than 50% chance of thunderstorms everyday for the next week so it shouldn't take long to find out if I fixed it
Made mid-day change: needed something to pry with.

I should have taken a pic or two on the roof. I'm not the best on roofs and tend to become very mission focused. That and trying not to do something stupid, like fall off![]()
Thanks Rick. Time will tell.I don't know whether to "Like" your post or not, Mike. That's a fine knife but the leak in your roof sucks. I hope you got it fixed.
LOL!Thanks, Jack.
It's always easiest to order them pre-patina-ed.
Thanks, my friend.
It was nice to get out and stretch the legs and let the puppy sniff everything.
It's only a couple of miles around, but it's still nice... feels like being out in the wilderness.
Impressive color coordination!!I carried my sepia barlow with my sepia rope today.

Marvelous metal knives!![]()
Full metal day
Have a nice day![]()
That's an appealing knife!Oh, I don't know.
...
But I'm finding this one awfully seductive lately:

Splendid sowbelly!
...
Well, on Mon. Wed. and Fri. I put my right leg into my waders first, then I put my left boot on first, and then I tie up my right boot first. All other days I reverse the process. Unless I’m fishing streamers, but I don’t feel like the superstitious type Gary!
The fishing turned really good, so the Jack is a lucky fishing knife after all.![]()
Looking good, Todd!Carrying these for the ride home. View attachment 1588418
That's a superb Roy & Dale Barlow, John; congrats!Totin' a wonderful USA Made "Thrifty" Barlow that Toddbigfish64 gifted me for my Roy Rogers Collection, along with my Usual Lamb... Thanks Todd.

Oldies and Goodies, Jeff, and interesting turkey tales!54 Jack and 6308 Whittler again.
View attachment 1589032View attachment 1589033And Mrs.Turkey came down from her high roost in the river birch, gathered up her four youngsters, and headed across over by the compost piles. Which is the direction she was heading when I stepped out with a leashed Manny. He was thoroughly dissatisfied with the restraint, but she certainly now knows a big yellow dog lives here.
One cup of coffee later, and here they go, back toward the corner in which they entered.View attachment 1589031
We’ll see what she decides to do.
She stops to grab a ripe wild black raspberry off one of my vines.View attachment 1589029
Handsome AGR Barlow!
Major score!!A junk store Kutmaster. It is a bit pitted, but the joints are tight, and the blades are not ground down to toothpicks.

Grand grain on your GEC 83!
That's a dandy duo of vintage Imperial "Storm Troopers", JJ!
Superb knife, Gus, but I can't identify it!Same ‘ole for the rest of the day, yet for the moment here with the spearmint. Maybe not as minty… but still krispy!

I didn't realize there was a BSA edition; maybe they have a Roy Rogers version, too? That's one of my "often looked at but haven't purchased" knives on my list... I want the Boy Scout edition.![]()

I think next time I find myself in Alturas I’ll just go straight to the Wagon Wheel. I’m bound to run into you there if I wait a few minutes.![]()
There's a use for a SAK I never heard of before!Got this one again today. I like having the tools handy. Helped me trim some tiny tree (bonsai) branches, tighten a screw on a door hinge, and open a box...out at dinner today after a walk at the beach. Gorgeous day today. In a second here I’m gonna use the parcel hook to turn the knife into a stand to hold my phone while I watch the ball game.View attachment 1588982
Thanks, Jack.Great to see Zorro![]()
Hope everyone has made it through the week OK. Carrying a Sheffield Lamb, re-covered by @jsdistin , and an old Joseph Haywood

Intriguing Douk-Douk variations!Hi
These are Douk-Douk inspired knives called "Sons of Douk-Douk".
A new interpretation declined in 3 themes:
- Yatagan blade for the Moorish theme
- London for the Maritime theme
- Higonokami for the Japanese theme

Painted folded metal handle, N690Co stainless steel blade.
Creations of the Cognet cutlery in Thiers
I have two of them (gifts for Father's Day)
Kudos for your black walnut planting efforts, Jeff, and thanks for the suggestions on walnut-hafted knives! Thanks for your kind and witty comments, my friend! I especially like your Patience vs Procrastination observation. It’s all in how you frame it.
I learned about walnut piracy when we lived in the Missouri Ozarks. Yet another lesson in the disgusting side of homo sapiens.
My love of that wood led me to planting hundreds of black walnut trees. At first from nuts gathered in forest preserves, and eventually from my own trees.
You should look into the Case navy/rope knife~ single sheepfoot blade handled in walnut. I have been tempted, especially seeing it again here a day or two ago.
Case also handles their TL-29 in black walnut...
Thanks, José.Nice trio of knives, Gary. For me especially this MAM, I love it.![]()
