What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Friction (w/lockring) over Slipjoint ...
Grain "faults"/random pattern discolorations in the Boxwood of the friction. Nice

On 5th think, the vampires I gotta go visit in the A.M. won't see but the scout knife, and sheath on my belt ...
Chaged stockman to Marbles MR431 D2 Sowbelly stockman.
The Harness Jack for an sleeveboad Sunfish (RR139 smooth white bone) and the 110 for an Marbles MR139 fish knife. (Marbles' rendition of an Douk Douk?)

(kept the BSA Scout/Camp knife to remind 'em I'm Trustworthy, Loyal, Honest, and the rest, etc.)
The MR139 and RR139 have been wanting for me to carry them.
Yes. It was tempting to go wth the Marbles MR278 "Demo" knife to show I patriotic. :)

I wasn’t aware of Nontron before you started posting pictures of yours. I’m quite taken with what I see. They seem like Opinels, but with more style.
Similar to Opinels I suppose. The Nontron use of a ring lock predates the Opinel ring lock by a couple of hundred years. In the Seventeenth century, Guillaume Legrand, master cutler from Paris, settled in Nontron and started making the already produced famous Nontron’s folding knife. He is the one who invented the ferrule, or ring lock, a few years later. By contrast, the ring lock only appeared on the Opinel knife in 1955. Nontron is the oldest French folding knife and originated in the 14th or 15th century, while Opinel was founded in 1890. Each Nontron knife is handmade while Opinel uses a more mass production process. At the end of the day, Nontron and Opinel knives have similar uses. Maybe Opinel is a poor man's Nontron ... or Nontron is an over executed Opinel LOL. In my hand, the Nontron is MUCH more comfortable than any Opinel I have. The history and heritage of the Nontron is much longer too.

Edited for accuracy

You guys talked me into another one. This is pretty nice. I'll be giving it a run for awhile.

I love Alox SAKs, I have a few, my favorites are the Farmer, followed by the Pioneer. The one I’ve always wanted though was an Electrician. Most of the SAKs were gotten at flea markets and yard sales but no one ever sells their Electricians.

I have a dozen Classics, I give them away as fast as I get them. Someone doesn’t have a knife, I take the Classic off my key ring and give it to them. SAK Classics are right up there with #6 Opinels, affordable, (cheap enough to giveaway) but still a well made blade.

This is the first SAK I ever bought. Have a couple that I received years ago for work gifts. The electrician could be on my list soon. This solo feels nice in hand with no blade play slightly off center but I can fix that easy enough.
