What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My worst cut was with a balisong, a Pacific Cutlery Imada High Hollow bowie blade, EXTREMELY thin edge and lancer sharp point, I was practicing with my left hand, ambidextrous training, and it was being dropped ice pick open and closing, my daughter walked into the room and distracted me...my excuse ;)...and as I brought the knife up to close, the handle didn't swing up far enough but the point did and went in at the first knuckle of my finger and out through the tip in a flash, I jumped up, ran to the bathroom, blood was pumping like crazy, my wife laughing like crazy...of course. taped it close and wrapped it tight but it was a super super clean surgical cut and sealed up fairly quickly but for many days I was reminded as I went to put my hand into my pocket for something...OUCH

Oh man Gary that sounds pretty bad !! Mine was squirting blood pretty good to so ran it under water for a while pinching it shut and then rapped it tight with some bandaids it held good over night but think I was cutting off the circulation because it was throbbing also it ripped back open in the morning and crazy glue doesn’t seem to be working . I’m sure the nerves in my finger are and we’re pretty ticked off at me lol. I guess it could always be worse though years ago I had a friend that was trying to stab a coconut or something can’t remember but the knife slipped and hit him in the palm of hand severing nerves and so he lost control of his pinky finger and the one next to it 😲

Thank you my friend very much as your kind words are much appreciated :)
With that being said like away it might make my finger feel better lol. This was definitely a good wake up call for me. For those wondering how it happen I was cutting some leather lanyards and grabbed my viper really fast not realizing the Wharnie was upside down and had the edge up instead of down so when I pushed down on to the edge and cutting board with much pressure to cut the leather it went pretty deep.
Stupid mistake in a dark candle lit room and late sunday night. Thats my story and I’m sticking to it 😁
Ouch!
That’s exactly what I said with a few extra words at a increasingly elevated volume 🤭
LOL! :D Hope you heal fast, those finger cuts are very annoying

Great to see Charlie waynorth waynorth posting again :) Thought I'd pair my 2018 Guardians Ebony Lambsfoot with my ebony TC, the first of many knives Charlie has gifted me over the years, and still very much a favourite :) Have a good day everyone
