What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That is such a cool knife Jack, and I really like that picture. 😊👍
Many thanks Todd :)
My Hartshead Barlow alongside a gunstock I'm refinishing.View attachment 1606707
Cool project Bill, and a nice pic of your Hartshead Barlow  :)
Ya, I know, but I'm going to pack my Lamb in my suitcase just for comfort.
Very sensible ;) :D
Wyoming is funny...
As a resident, you can carry a concealed gun or knife without a permit.
As a visitor... no guns and your knife cannot be concealed... guess I can wear it around my neck.
That sounds like a raw deal John :(
Two absolute winners right there, my friend. 🤠
Can't blame you for sticking to those two.
Thanks pal :)
It's not like I'll be frisked at the border, but I'm a rule follower kind of guy.
I was pretty shocked as well, it's Wyoming for goodness sakes... a pocket knife should be a given in Cowboy Country.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
SAK in my pocket for the next 10 days...

Usual Lamb in my suitcase...
Practical pairing my friend :)
Every night in the hotel. :)
:D
Not sure what we’re up to today, but I’ll probably have one or both of these with me.View attachment 1606795
Nice pairing there Todd
To be in solidarity with John @JohnDF while he's having to tote a Victorinox Cadet this week, I've taken my Red Alox Farmer out of it's box and placed it on my desk for a visual while he's gone.

When ya coming back John? Oh, why are ya going John - just a vacation?
LOL! :D Well done Ed

Not one wanting to leave any of you guys hanging, I’ve dragged this ol thing out for the day as well 😉😄
Cool knife  Hey, I had a Vic Electrician in my bag yesterday ;)
Some mighty fine stag for today; have a great Sunday, Jack!!! 😁
Thanks a lot JJ, you too buddy :)

I wish the current Cadet models had a second blade instead of the grooming tool. 🤠
I second that wish, John. When I discovered that a previous version of the Cadet (inexplicably called "Cadet 2" o_O) had a pen blade instead of a nail file, that model immediately went on my Be On Look Out list, but I didn't have much luck until a generous BF member sent me a whole fistful of amazing Alox knives!

What can I say... I'm a creature of habit. ;)
Nothing wrong with GOOD habits like you're displaying here!:thumbsup::cool:

I’m savoring and enjoying a Taylor’s Eye Witness and Pal Blade Co on this fleeting day.😁

Savory pair indeed, Jeff!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I admire both those patterns, and especially savor the walnut covers on the TEW lambsfoot!

Just posted this pic in a SAK thread but I like my Texas Jack so much I thought it should be shown here too.

Just love 💗 this combo !!!
Man, that's a convincing glamor shot of your Texas Jack, James!:cool::thumbsup: I keep telling myself that I shouldn't buy any more knives with square bolsters (since I much prefer round bolsters) and I really don't need any more 2-blade jacks (since I'd rather have blades on opposite ends), but SO many people are involved in a conspiracy to tempt me into getting a Texas Jack!😲

I'm heading out to the market so I threw these two thrifty 1930s slicers in my pocket. :)
It's Hammer Time, JJ!:cool:🤓 Eye-catching covers on that jack on the right!

Today is my daughter Eleanor’s 5th birthday, which, of course, means I’m carrying her Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose.

acY9znC.jpg

It’s been a good day so far. We had pancakes for breakfast, Eleanor opened some presents and we spent some time at one of her favorite parks. She’s been going to half-day preschool a couple days a week this summer, and said that she still wanted to go even though it was her birthday, so we’ve been enjoying a couple hours of quiet while she’s doing that. She requested Chinese takeout for dinner tonight, and “Mamaw cookies” (my grandmother’s recipe) instead of a birthday cake, which I baked yesterday.

As always, I took a photo of Eleanor with her knife earlier today, and as always, I’m gonna make y’all look all the previous years’ photos again, too. 😉😁

Fantastic retrospective of Eleanor's birthday photos, Barrett; that Bull Nose seems to be shrinking as time goes by!:cool:😁
I thought of you and your other daughter as I re-read To Kill a Mockingbird last week; I always forget just how good that novel is (and I'm sure there's plenty of "Southern stuff" that goes right over my Yankee head 🤪).

Quality quartet Gary, and I always enjoy seeing your Richartz :)
Thanks, Jack. I need to find more pocket knives that can carry some of my memory load as I journey farther into my golden years. 😁

Hope everyone has had a good week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend :) Carrying a New Friend and an Old Friend today ;)

Splendid pants your friends are wearing!!:thumbsup:;)

I carry today this old Wenger alox in my pocket.

Wonderful old Alox example, José!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Four handsome knives there Gary
Thanks, Jack; I tend to think you have good taste! :);)

Thank you, GT.
My grandson helped me cut that head of broccoli yesterday, and he asked why I used a dangerous knife instead of scissors. I have some work to do on that boy, but he’s only five.
A little neatsfoot oil caused the slip to darken~ good eye.
I wondered if you had used neatsfoot oil. That's what my Dad taught me to use when I got my first ball glove of my own (a Sears Ted Williams model that I used from 3rd through 9th grade - prior to that I used old mitts uncles had brought home from military service, most without even having the fingers laced together, and flat as a pancake). I always enjoyed the way it darkened my glove. I still use it on ball gloves, a couple of pocket slips I have, and occasionally on leather work boots.

Happy Friday all!

Unlimited appeal in that Schrade+ USA LTD. knife!:thumbsup::cool:

Looks like you might have some fishing in your future; really like that Hammer Brand fish knife!:thumbsup::thumbsup: And a subsequent post confirms that.

I won this as second prize in a junior tomahawk throwing contest in the late 70s. It was the first “real” knife I ever had besides Imperials and Colonials. It started a love of collecting that’s lasted well over four decades; plus I still have the tomahawk I used that day too. A lot of treasured memories!

Nothing to do with John or Ed, but it does fall in line with their choices…

I had a Sears Ted Williams baseball glove too!
It served me well.
Its pretty simple Amir. All the hardware mounts with one pin. Carve yourself a body with same dimensions or similar then final fit everything to the new body.

Going to try this~ thanks!

I’m pretty sure a photo of that tomahawk with the Schrade is in order;)
