What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Cool picture Jeff, really enjoying all the bright yellow this morning. šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘
Thanks, Todd.

Very nice, especially the French one with horn scales! The small clip point blade was originally intended as a scraping blade with which officers in the Swiss Army could erase their writting mistakes. That's why the old Victorinox ones have more of a belly to them. The Wengers are pointier, like the one on the yellow German knife you posted. I find it interesting because it's a different approach to the issue than with American office knives, which originally had a sort of spey, corn or grafting type of blade for this purpose although those too were later mostly replaced by pen blades.

You know I used to fancy the 85 mm Wengers having a nail file but now I just feel naked with a knife that doesn't have at least one big and one small blade ... šŸ˜…
I’ve enjoyed the little discussion of Swiss Army Knife secondary blades. I’ve always gravitated toward Wenger’s small clip over a nail file, or Victorinox’s pen. The Wenger Canyon and Viking are two layer knives with the small clip secondary that I like to carry. The only difference between the two being the back tools ~ phillips screwdriver on the Canyon, vs corkscrew on the Viking.

This being said with the caveat that as a guitar player and gardener, the nailfile and scissors on my wee Wenger keychain Esquire is my most used knife period ;)

Yup, they're just great tools, be they SAKs, sportsmen's, scout or camp knives. I learned to appreciate the idea of several tools in one compact package, took me quite a while lol.

Nice John, when I think of a stockman, that’s the one that pops into my head.
Thanks, Todd. :)
It is my favorite Stockman pattern.
I thought I'd like the round bolsters better, but these square ones I actually like.
Nice pairing, Todd. 🤠
Your Jack is a nice match to my Stockman today.

I'd prefer the screwdriver to the corkscrew. I'd even prefer the nail file to the cork screw.
You have plenty of blades and tools to choose from with that trio. 🤠

Jack Black Jack Black I suppose I did miss it, but I’m not surprised it’s his work it looks great! I’ll have to go back and check it out. Thanks!
A pleasure my friend, the blade was modded from a Pruner by Bob BigBiscuit :)
Nice pairing, Jack. 🤠
I find a good Clip Point blade pairs well with my Lambsfoot blades.

For Monday...
Thanks buddy, it's nice to have some variety :) Looks like you've got all the bases covered there

I’m sorry. Same pair. Fresh photos, though!View attachment 1621073View attachment 1621074
I added this one, too. I’m saving seeds from certain perrennial prairie plants, and the can opener blade works pretty well for digging them out of the flower heads.View attachment 1621078
Three great knives Jeff, I've always liked the Wenger can-opener

They do look strikingly similar. I’m not one to spread rumors or conspiracy theories, but I DID post something I heard about my Jack and that stockman of yours in the Case thread. šŸ˜‰šŸ‘

Man Jon, you hold no punches! Isaac Bruce is a class act, and was such an important part of the ā€œGreatest Show on Turf.ā€ Some of the most memorable moments as a Bucs fan came in games with the Rams. I always pulled for them, unless of course they were playing the Bucs. 😊 Great looking knife also. šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘
Bucs? I’m a chiefs fan now living in Tampa. You would have thought it would suck because of the super bowl, but you’d have a hard time knowing the local team won around here.
Oh ya... St Louis used to have a football team. ;)
A couple times, so I don’t think that’ll happen again.
