Kinda wondering what's happened in the life of the IRJ. Maybe it has worked hard. That blade pivot pin looks to be a little sunken
The story goes...
It had a broken back spring, It was sent back to KSF and then returned to Queen for repairs. They repaired the spring but left the pivot pin exposed. They got it back just in time as Queen then closed its doors for good. The pivot pin doesn't bother me, it allowed me to buy it at "user" price and doesn't make me feel bad when I actually do "use" it.
Wonderful memories. 🤠
The BSA gets a bad rap these days, thanks to a few bad people.
But the organization did wonderful things for generations of boys and I love them for it.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! I was in Boy Scouts over 10 years and worked at a Summer Camp my Junior and Senior years of HS as HandiCraft Director and Archery Director. BSA made a tremendous impact on my life.

Totin’ this whittler as we ride out Hurricane Ida. At this point, the eye of the storm is only about 25 miles to my west! I have the horses and dogs bedded down. It is going to be a long night! I love Louisiana, but this place is not for the faint hearted. At least it is never boring!

Thanks for the good wishes Yann and Andrew, Corto_Malt Corto_Malt , NewBlades16 NewBlades16 .

It’s going to drastically change the landscape in some of my most beloved places in the mountains.
I hear that!!! 😢
It's currently ripping through my 4x4 club's adopted trail in Strawberry.
I helped re-open that trail after years of neglect and being forgotten by the 4x4 community.
Also, Silver Fork is one of my Go-To spots for fly fishing... not to mention an absolutely beautiful spot.

This is my camp equipment from back in the day; I never had an official BSA knife, but I still have this Imperial Kamp-King Knife, Bridgeport Official Scout Ax, and BSA Official Match Safe as well as most of my other BSA equipment. It brings back a lot of great memories from my youth.

Check this out~ my Dad’s Handbok for Boys, printed June, 1946. Amazing all the fun things they did without putting their eyes out or ending up in jail!

I thought of you when I saw a graph comparing this one to Katrina. This one has sustained winds 25 mph higher. Of course, what made K. so bad was how it just sat there and rained. And it’s surge.
Here’s hoping this one blows right on through without stalling...
GOOD LUCK!

In memory/honor of my Maternal Great Grandfather, W.F. Moore. (1892-1973)
I remember he had a shell construction Imperial Barlow, that he carried while working the farm. (Crops only, no livestock but maybe a couple chickens by the time I came around.)
I also remember a 4 blade Scout/Camp knife (and a all steel pipe knife with tobacco tamper) on his kitchen table when he emptied his pockets.
I don't have a pipe knife any more. I quit smoking pipe a year or three after he passed.
Anyway, at least close to what he carried ...
1956 - 1988 Imperial Barlow.
Ulster Scout/Camp knife. (his had brown covers)

I'm going to try and carry just these two for the next week or more ... no doubt I'll end up adding a stockman.
