What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I first started lurking in the porch in ‘19 but never thought to look at the stickies at the top of the page. Big regret haha. That is such a fine knife.
Thanks, it’s one of my nicest knives. I think we did well designing that one. I also missed the forum knife when I started lurking on here in 2015, which was a very cool Canal St knife.

Thank you. This one required a third layer for the saw, but it’s still slim. I’ve come to really like the two layer Wengers as well, especially the Canyon and Viking. They both have that little clip secondary, which is verry useful. The only difference is the Canyon has a phiiipps on the back, while the Viking has a corkscrew. Apparently the Vikings liked wine?

I feel bad for Wenger having been swllowed up by Victorinox. They made a more attractive main spear, in my opinion.

Haha I'm sure the Vikings weren't picky, whether it was ale, mead or wine. I like the two layer Spartan style models best, but that's just my taste.

I know what you mean about the Wenger spear point blade and it really is a pitty. Wenger historically was very innovative, they started using the cap lifter before Victorinox did, put nylon scales on their army contract knives. At the same time they kept a lot of the cool vintage features longer (exposed pins and awl, clip point secondary). Wenger and Victorinox were kinda pushing each other on to make new stuff.

Not many people know it because they're very rare, but there used to be a third Swiss maker of SAKs (both military and civilian): Röthlisberger from Bärau. They still make peasent knives, sort of semi custom.

I've been carrying some Victorinox knives among the knives I've toted most of this month.
This "folding paring knife" with liner lock was part of my buying spree in July. I'm VERY impressed with the knife! As the photo comparing the Victorinox to a Rough Rider folding hunter shows, the folding paring knife is long, but it's very light and thin and I hardly noticed it in my pocket. The only aspect of the knife that I think is less than ideal is the lack of a point on the blade, which I find limiting for a paring knife.

I also actually purchased a fixed blade knife last month, and extremely rare event for me! It's also a Vic paring knife, this one with a serrated sheepsfoot blade. Very useful!

I wanted to have a SAK saw while vacationing earlier this month, so I've been toting this Vic Camper almost all month:

As always, I'm carrying this Alox Solo:

A SAK pack attack! 😎👍
Very cool Jon, you have an impressive collection of knives and sports memorabilia! Really enjoying it. 😎👍

Haha! I have one of those CRKT Deco knives, too; it's my go-to carry for doctor appointments. I tell myself it'll make a difference when they take my weight. 🙂

Today's carry is a Queen Whittler, and a Germania Cutleryworks.

Incredible pair of knives, Rachell.
I wonder how old the jack is.

This morning's hospital knife. I'm more concerned about appearing non-bellicose than minimizing my weight.
They have a new sign at the hospital: "Aggression will not be tolerated" in aggressively large and bold type.

Good choice for evading aggressive pacifism.
The only thing that might be better is one of those Girl Scout knives in Seafoam Green.

Yesterday, I mixed up some concrete and repaired the bird bath.. Then I made a mental list of all of the garden chores I’m suddenly behind on. To fish or work in the garden...6773B8D2-6DFA-437F-A667-6A581B0B0264.jpegRight after breakfast, I have to go over to the county offices and pay the second installment of our property taxes. I hate it, but haven’t come up with a better alternative yet.
At least they have a handy drive-up window so I don’t have to leave my knives in the car and walk inside. And the lady says “Thank You” sometimes, too!

I have one, but it's bigger than the Vic. Maybe a little abalone watch-chain knife.

The black one is a Utica featherweight GS.
Ah yes... I know r8shell r8shell has one, and I was pretty sure that you’ve shown one before.
Your others are non-aggressive, but nothing is quite so soothing to the rabidly savage bellicose as Seafoam Green.
And that awl blade might help you get out of the handcuffs!
