I bought my first Spyderco knife at a gun show in 1990. The Delica and Endura had just been introduced and they were unique to the knife world. They were considered ugly, with that strange shape and big hole in the blade, but they looked "interesting". I bought the Delica. And lost it within a couple of weeks. Left it on the bumper of my truck after opening bags of ice to fill the chest for a camping trip. About 6 months later, I went to another gun show and the same vendor was there still selling Spyderco knives. I bought a fully serrated Endura this time, along with a Sharpmaker. I thought the larger knife would be harder to lose. It was. I used that knife for years, sharpening it so much the serrations smoothed out. I still have it. I've bought a lot of knives since that first Endura, including a recent Gayle Bradley Folder, but the original knives got me hooked.
