What was your first Kershaw knife?

I used to lust after the Liner Action knives that were around way back when. My first Kershaw purchase was a Wild Wild Turkey with Titanium handles. Wish I hadn't sold it.

I've spent more in the last year, though, with close to $500. With only one other non-Kershaw knife in that time.

My first was a Kershaw Scallion. I carried it every day until one day when I was in Wal-Mart and nature called. I rushed to the rest room and as I pulled up my shirt, the tail of the shirt snagged the pocket clip and lifted the knife out of my pocket and into the toilet. I stood there for several moments trying to make the decision and finally grabbed it and then sat down to do what I had come to do. I dried it and oiled it, but it would not open correctly anymore. It ended up back at Kershaw. They sent me a brand new one that arrived with a broken torsion bar. I called again and they sent me ANOTHER one that worked fine and let me keep the new one with the broken torsion bar. That is great customer service. The good one is still in my EDC rotation, although I just got a new ENER-G today that will probably get the majority of the carry time for a while. The one with the broken torsion bar still works fine using the thumb stud and lives in my tool box. Good knives but a GREAT company and that is why I'm a loyal customer. My wife carries a knife every day for work and has multiple Chives, Scallions and Leeks. She's a big fan too.

My first Kershaw was a plain-Jane Leek, then a Whirlwind. Now I've owned every SpeedSafe model they've made at some point, and a lot of other models.

A Storm II. Great knife. Sold it though and bought a new Storm II with the rubbery type inserts instead of the sandpaper ones in the old models.,,,VWB.

My first Kershaw was a SE Blackout. One day I saw a guy pull out his Leek to open a box, and when he used the speedsafe,:eek: that was it for me. I went shopping to find the same knife, but I liked the "tactical" look of the all black, Blackout.

Mine was a red Scallion. I had lost my previous knife, and went to a Bass Pro Shop to replace it. I had never heard of Kershaw, but I fell in love with the SpeedSafe and the overall feel of the knife. EDC'd it for like 2 years. Now I'm always carrying either a Groove or a Leek.

Sailor knife - model 1075 or model 12, can't rightly tell. Sheepsfoot, shackle key, marlin spike, frame mounted screwdriver, and rubber scale overlay.

Much better than the standard Camillus and such. Still going strong after a couple of decades.

Kershaw Blackout! since 1999!

jeez, you know i dont like any non assisted knives anymore...

A scallion 1620 about 5-6 years ago. Now have 5 Kershaws. Scallion is still my favorite.

Stainless lockback with a drop-point blade and a rainbow trout on the handle. No idea on model number or if it's still with the parents all these years later. I'll have to ask. Now edc either a rainbow leek or a double cross (or both).

My first Kershaw was a Vapor that I recently passed on to my son.

He used it to cut a shoe box into confetti.

Rainbow chive, that i ordered about 2 months ago. Oh wait, i still havent gotten it :grumpy:. Oh well, at least i havent paid any money.

I just purchased a Leek($30) black/white smoke..Im now hoping its legal for me to carry in PA and if not hoping I can "remove" the spring system without ruining the knife..its far too nice not to carry !

Mine was a half serrated Whirlwind my Uncle got me for Christmas back in 2001 I believe. I've carried a Whirlwind as an EDC pretty much every day since then.
