what was your sharpest knife out of the box?

My wife bought me one of those Boker ceramics and it was insanely sharp. As far as steel it is a 20+ year old Gerber PK-2. It is still one of the best blades I have ever owned for an edge.

The single sharpest knife OOB that I have ever gotten was a Ka-Bar Large Dozier. It would push-cut newsprint 1" from my hand. Other Ka-Bars that I have bought were sharp, but have not been that sharp.

The knives that are most uniformly sharp OOB are my Spydercos, but they aren't as sharp as that one Ka-Bar.

A tie between my Emerson super cqc 7, and my Spyderco military in s30v. I have other Emersons and Spyderos, but none were as sharp as these 2.

Most Kershaws are really sharp oob....OD1 cuts me almost every time ,playing with it, blade just has to touch ur skin and ur cut,REALLY.

Kershaw Blur SG-2 and Spyderco Caly Jr. zdp-189 tied for 1st. There alot of 2nds. The dullest is without question is D2 from Queen. They are ground at about a 50 degree angle.

Have yet to buy a Spyderco that wasn't screaming sharp out of the box. M2 Ritter was off the scale sharp as well.

Only one that stands out was the waved Spyderco Delica 4 that I picked up at the SFO. I swear they put them on the Sharpmaker when no one is in the store.

Anyone that had a chance to buy the kershaw JYD in SG2 knows that it was hair popping sharp out of the box.Kershaw really antied up on that one. I'm scared to use it because it would be very hard for anyone to put that kind of edge on that.

The serrations on my spyderco tenacious was the sharpest edge I got from a out of the box knife.

Emerson A-100 unbelievably sharp out of box

BM HG Grip. wow. It, along with my Leek, have been able to cut me deeply, and have me not notice until the blood was covering part of my hand. So long, tip of pinky. So long.

Before April the 1st it was my BM 610 Rukus. That flat grind really gives it some slicing ability. Now I would have to go with the Kershaw JYDIISG2. That edge is a unbelievably sharp!
