what was your sharpest knife out of the box?

Would have to be my berreta loveless design drop point, it will shave your arm clean, and cut at the slightest touch, scary sharp! Next would be my Rick Fowler survival. My friend picked it up and asked if it was sharp as he ran his finger across it, laid it open to the bone.

I would have to say my Spyderco Moran fixeb blade, that thing came extremely scary sharp.

Tied between my Endura Wave and my Caly 3, both in serrated edge. They both easily whittled hair. Next would be my Kreins, which both tree top hair with tremendous slicing aggression from their 120 grit edge. I have had several Spydercos push cut newsprint 2"-3" from the point of hold and tree top hair, but only those SE knives have ever come to me hair whittling sharp.

Spyderco Stretch 2 ZDP, and a Kershaw JYD 2, Ti/SG2

Both could whittle hairs out of the box. They were amazing. Most Spydercos and Kershaws are at least in the very sharp category but these were exceptional. Joe

In general, all my Kershaws and every Spyderco except my Spyderflies win hands-down.

All my Protechs and Microtechs came very sharp, but just not quite as sharp as the Spyders or Kershaws.

My Benchmades are about 50/50 for "feeling" sharp, although all would shave armhair out of the box (for some reason though, some just don't "feel" sharp, or would tear/bind paper, even though it would shave).

But the single sharpest knife I've had purchased new was my humble Victorinox 4" paring kitchen knife (cost me like $5). Of course, it doesn't stay sharp as long as a ZDP-189 Spyderco, but at least it sharpens easily.

Fehrman Last Chance.

Whoever stropped that thing before it left the factory deserves a raise, and some better health insurance, just in case.

Beretta loveless drop point- hairs actually go 'ping' and fly off my arm.

Every Kershaw I've owned except the Vapor

Victorinox $3 red handled paring knife- so thin it's insanely sharp

Marble's fixed blades for production knives, the Gladstone ones.
Microtechs are very sharp also.

Doug

In my openion it's hard to give an honest answer because so many have come through my hands that have been so super sharp, Military, Para Military, 615 etc. My new RAM is the one fresh to my mind as the new record holder I think!

For me, it was my Emerson Commander in 154CM. Also crazy sharp have been all my Spyderco knives and my Bark River Canadian Special.

Disappoints were my Boker Barlow and Bark River Mini-Canadian. Neither would cut paper at all when I got them.
