what was your sharpest knife out of the box?

I'll have to say the Kershaw Ti SG2 JYDII as well...

Is anybody keeping count? I think the U2 might have it!! Love that humble little knife.

i bought a new unused cold steel carbon v trailmaster from a friends uncle that he bought in the early 80's. it is the sharpest knife ive even seen out of the box. way sharper then any other cold steel ive handled since.

One of the sharpest knives I've gotten out of the box was actually a Fiskars fillet knife I used to own. I may still own it. I have some boxes to go through. :D

Any Victorinox SAK.

Any Spyderco I've owned.

I don't actually collect knives. I usually buy a knife when I need to replace one I was using. So, I don't have as wide of a knowledge of brands as some folks here. Mostly Buck, (US) Schrade, Gerber, Victorinox, Benchmade, Spyderco, and some odds and ends.

The U2 has a great steel and is a sweet deal. It would be a great EDC but I like a little more prettiness in my EDC's. Now if the ivory PXL is as sharp I may have a winner.

My sharpest would have to be my ZDP/420J2 laminate Spyderco Caly3. My Emerson Commander came with a really sharp blade but was hard to maintain and did not hold it as well as the Caly3. The M4 and 52100 Mules were good and sharp and a tiny bit of work made them very good especially the M4.
Sorry for the big pic.

For a huge bowie the hollow ground Rosarm Bayonet was shockingly sharp

My RAT Izula was insanely sharp out of the box.

I was very impressed by my Spyderco Woodlander as well, but maybe more because its such a thick blade and is still razor sharp.

Tom Krein's re-grind on my HD-7 was as sharp as my old Hartsfield's and Leu blades.
That's SHARP!!

Spyderco about tops it for me. Ones that stood out were the BG-42 Military, the Paramilitary, Bill Moran, and Persian.

Spydercos have been universally sharp as hell. The Kershaw Blur with SG2 steel was up there. Still, I think the one that stands out as the sharpest for me was the KaBar Dozier folding hunter in D2. Whoever they had doing those models in Seki really nailed it.
