What would you like to see from CS in 2017?

A larger wharncliffe and a smaller karambit.

Good thread to start mastiffhound. Thanks.

I want a light thin fixed blade similar to what I modded;

Handle size : Full size like the Pendleton Hunter but without the excess weight of the 5 mm thick steel. Same length handle but could be a bit smaller diameter.

Krey-Ex with this diamond pattern or a similar material but WITH THIS DIAMOND PATTERN.
To be very specific I like the "bird's" eye on the end and do not need the lanyard hole.

The handle should be sculpted like the knives shown not straight sided like the Master Hunter.

2mm blade thickness by a FULL three and a half inches. The Pendleton is advertised that but is in fact shorter.
The blade doesn't have to be as wide / the Ti Lite width is perfect.

Blade steel : anything really hard and wear resistant M390, ZDP-189 (NOT S110V Please not that). I don't have enough experience with the 3V yet but that seems great as well.

Optional sheaths to include one similar to the tubular Mora shown but with a clip on it like the Peace Maker so I can clip it inside my pack, on my pants with no belt or on my belt as I need. That would be brilliant.

You've all seen these too much but here goes again; these pretty much work for me but ultimately just one size between these two would be perfect.

Demko AD-10 based CS production model. Built in USA and up to same quality as the 4Max. :)

Cruwear would be my ultimate steel, but CTS-XHP is comparable in usage and would be totally welcomed if it kept cost down.

I like tool steel for toothy edges that are reasonably tough. Plus it's a joy to sharpen them, IMHO. I also prefer a semi-stainless, at least, steel.

Cruwear has fit that niche for me. D2 and XHP are very close to that same sweet spot. The only knock on XHP is that I have had it chip out a bit on me with my Lawman, but that may have been due largely to edge geometry + rough usage on dirty carpet tear-out job rather than steel properties. Fifteen min. on my XC DMT plate and it was back up to spec., so no worry there anyways.

BTW, thanks Lynn & CS Crew on the 4Max...wish we didn't have to wait so long, but it was WORTH IT!!!!:D

since a lot of the thumb studs are removable, id like to see a small piece of optional hardware that attaches into the thumb stud hole but allows for the pocket snag deployment. Something that could either be supplied with thumb stud folders separately, or purchased separately, to allow users to choose deployment method. It would be awesome on the voyagers, recon folders, lawman etc. . Something like this:

Id also really like to see a trail master and srk with micarta or g10 handles and a slightly smaller guard. Maybe bring back that limited flight of the intruder TM. I love the TM, but I can't get past the rubberized handle.

One simple request. A satin finished American Lawman. I believe that would compete with the PM2 as a top all around edc.
With a little marketing, CS would sell that knife like crazy.

Bring back the satin finish offer more stone wash blades options. I am starting to lose interest in CS with all the black non distinct blades. Also being back the Natchez bowie in SM3.

I would buy one of those immediately! I'm surprised they don't offer the TM in cpm3v already

I wouldn't worry about 3v. O1 is surprisingly capable if heat treated right. That is if tempered to the optimal range of 60-61 HRC that the steel was designed for and not weakening it by bringng it down to mid 50s embrittlement range. I have seen O1 knives chopping dried bone and steel bolts, whittling nails then clean slicing paper after. Big question is how good is CS's heat treat.

I could see that, I have no experience with O1, but I've heard that it is amazing with a proper heat treat. I'd still like to see a production TM with micarta or g10 though.

Rajah I or II in increased steel, one that fits the size and purpose of this tool

And bring back the Desperado in CTS-XHP or even CTS-BD1, so many fans out there waiting for its reincarnation!

That handle has no rival whatsoever in the modern market, not even the TDI gets close!

The one knife I want (need?) in my collection is a Custom Classic Series AD10. I love my Cold Steel 4 Max, but it is huge and doesn't get carried much, and I have a few Demko customs that I am too chicken to use hard. A Cold Steel AD 10 would hit the sweet spot, and would likely be the only knife I need to buy at all next year. Let's see it happen!

Agreed.

Also, I wish they'd give up on aluminium backspacers on folders like the Lawman and 4 inch Talwar and replace them with titanium.

1. More wave thumb plates on folders.
2. A tanto tip folder with a thumb plate (come on...).
3. Tanto tip broken skull
4. Folding kwaiken with thumb plate. Slim like the broken skull (How sick wouldnt that be?)
5. A fixed blade traditional tanto for modern use with a nice penetrating tip.

You discontinued the Talwar so you really need to step up your game this year 😒 I´m not really getting over that.

5.5 inch fully serrated black talon with DLC coating, wave plate, and black G10 handles.... the not so grippy G10....
