What would you want in a Delica 5?

Finger choil, wire clip, some other colors of G10 than just Foliage Green & a smaller price differentiation between FRN & G10 models (ie, the G10 models are so much more expensive than the FRN models now...much more so than on other knife platforms of Spyderco).

Either a choil or cutting edge that goes all the way to the handle. I don't like how it's in between on the 4. You could pack a lot more cutting edge into that handle if it went all the way back. Or you could add a choil and have more control. With the 4 you have neither. That being said, I still think it's a great knife. I love mine.

Not sure if this is possible, but putting a compression lock on the knife would be amazing.

I'm a bit hesitant concerning the 50/50 choil thing. I have a feeling it might make the index/long finger choil a bit too small for my hand. I'd have to try out a Byrd Meadowlark before taking a clear stand there. Either way it isn't really necessary though. The Delica4 is great as it is.

Yes, a choil would be nice if it wouldn't sacrifice much useful cutting edge. Sharper jimping (like on the Manix 2, Para2, Millie) would be a great addition. It seems like the models out of Golden are the only one's getting the jimping right most of the time. I also have to agree with Needitcheaper. A deep carry wire clip would be nice. Lastly, continue to offer a waved version!

As long as I can still flop and drop the blade against my finger to close it, I almost don't care what changes are made. I'm all for wacky new stuff. Full production neon green FRN is all I ask for, without it having to be associated with some forum. No one has a monopoly on that color. Let's do this.

How do I explain this . When the Delica is folded there is a gap in between the blade and the FRN handle this is a big no no for me I love the delica but when folded that gap makes it look cheap . Fix the gap and put a wire clip . No choil it will make the edge smaller .

NO CHOIL !! Waste of space! VG10 ROCKS for a user steel far superior to S30V IMO.

I love my delica 4; I have however modified mine to suit my tastes, a rounded spine to stop the thin blade digging into my hand, and straightened the spine to give a more defined but less robust tip.

One thing I would change is do away with TIP DOWN MOUNTING HOLES, I know most people don't use them and it just allows all kind of dirt to get into the pivot, they suck big time.

Are you talking about the lack of flow right behind the Spydie hole into the handle? None of these have that problem. I would bet that you have picked the one realistic thing that might actually happen in the Delica's CQI.

Hehe, I confess this bugs me too on many knives. It was utterly glaring on the original Para-Military model and the Cold Steel American Lawman does it bad. I'm afraid that in most cases, it probably can't be helped due to having to widen the handle scales near the base of the blade. The grip at the "neck" of the Delica and Endura is so great as-is, that it would definitely screw with the ergonomics. Perhaps if Spyderco does ever add a choil, they can knock out this issue at the same time.

Yep, that's it.

I can't agree with that. Properly done it wouldn't use up any space:

But even though I went to the effort of making my own Delica with a choil and a wire clip, I'm perfectly happy for the factory ones to remain as they are.

Fair play, but they usually take up edge real estate. Nice modding, tho I still don't see any need for a choil on the delica.
