Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

Ordered my first knife in quite some time today. I've got a case chestnut bone sodbuster jr. in cv headed my way.

Hopefully this qualifies as "traditional" - just put in the "order" today at the Seattle show with MS Bill Burke - what an amazing maker and extremely nice man:

Also hope to get one much like this (at the show but sold very early) from Haley DesRosiers (what amazing talent and natural aesthetic sense):

Christmas in May, baby!!
Sounds like quite a haul, Greg. I'll be watching for your pictures once they come in.

I just ordered a Queen #19 Premium Trapper in Feathered Buffalo Horn. I'm now officially addicted to Queen's buffalo horn. I was eyeballing a #9 stockman with some especially nice covers and waiting for payday to order, and of course it got snagged up by another lucky collector. Luckily, I was able to find a trapper today that has equally appealing horn, so all is not lost.

I suppose it's good that you recognize your addiction, Cory! :D Congrats on picking up another buffalo horn knife. I look forward to reading your reactions to your latest acquisition once it arrives.

I have a pair of single blade Case teardrop jacks in 6.5 bonestag inbound from Collectorknives. Mike gave these a rating of 9.

One of these is for me to celebrate completion of a rather large project at work.

The other is for a friend who is retiring from the company. He likes traditional pocket knives and we have sometimes talked about them. So I will miss him on a number of levels. A darn fine engineer and an old school upper level manager who was more concerned about his people than about his own career. Hard to find that amongst this younger generation of souless bean counter managers. (I need to stop digressing lest I finish stating how I really feel about 21st century company management.)

Here is a pic from Mike's site:

I didn't know CASE had revived the 6.5 Bonestag! It's great material, that will make a really decent retirement present for your coleague Frank.
I want to retire now....and devote more time to my knives:D:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

I also ordered my first sfo and it's a #38 in African blackwood, it was mailed today. Not sure if I'll carry or stash it.

Don't have a pic but then it's not here yet ;) but I have a Case Seahorse in G10 riding the trail to my house, hope to have it here before weeks end!
G2

and yes Frank, that looks like a great Teardrop, I heard tell that they may be coming out with a wharncliff version of that, possibly this year?

No pix but the 38 Special thread reveals some.

A Lick Creek in Antique Yellow, An Orchard Gem in Cranberry Jig and a CASE Teardrop Barehead in Amber Bone.

This lot will HAVE TO DO for some months as the Euro/Dollar exchange rate is making knife buying one remove from Poverty Street. Dunno about Foodbanks but do you think they might start out some Knifebanks???

Regards, Will

I've got a Schatt & Morgan Harness Jack coming. I've been keeping an eye out for something with a keystone shield, since I was born in PA.

I'm always just a little behind when it comes to technology, and I just got PayPal. This is the first time I've bought something on the BF exchange. I'm a little worried. It was so easy. :) This is why I resisted for so long, as I can see myself spending too much. :D

I have 2 Case peanuts on the way. I bought a navy blue jigged bone 'Nut with stainless steel for pops (he was in the Navy) and had to get one for myself too. I went with the red jigged bone and carbon steel. I have 3 Case knives, a 6065B that I inherited from my uncle, the large stockman 6375 with carbon blades and jigged bone handles that I carry everyday and the burnt stag stockman "Rancher CV" that I love but am afraid to lose so I don't carry it too much. I'm looking forward to adding a 'Nut to my collection, although I'm not sure I would ever want to carry it instead of my stockman. I do a fair amount of wood carving so I like to have the various blades and the size of the handle to waste away wood fast when I need to or shift gears and use the smaller blades for detail work. Maybe I'll make the peanut my new engraving knife.

Just ordered a Bear and Sons Red Stag Barlow.. Carbon steel blades.. This is my first B&S knife and am curious to see it!! Anyone else have/had a B&S knife.. John

No telling when/if there will be a Bullnose run with some newer handle material options so I went ahead and ordered one in black delrin - should be here tomorrow :)
