Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

Sam,

Thanks for these -- they show the rhomboid shape very well (the normal side-shots simply do not give a good sense of this at all). And, thanks for making the wait even harder too! ;)

EDIT (and very off topic): Is that a film camera I see in the corner of the second photo?

-- Kevin

It'll be worth the wait, I received mine a couple of weeks ago and have been finding excuses wherever possible to to 'play' in the woods. Pasi makes a knife which isn't so fancy you are afraid to use it yet his craftsmanship is top notch.

Sorry if I'm diverting the thread a little but I thought you'd like to see these images of the knife from above, they show how he nicely tapers the rhomboid blade to combine strength with versatility.

--PICS EDITED FOR SPACE--

The birch bark handle is a sensory treat too:)

Hi Kevin,

Yep it's my old Olympus SLR, doesn't get much use these days....

Hope you enjoy the Puukko when it arrives:)

Sam

Finaly caved to another two GEC's today. The forum knife and the 62 courthouse in spring green. Already hunting for a good piece of wood.

Scratch the spring green, dealer was really out of stock. But I happened to track down a 66 yellow rose two blade ;) My first two blade traditional, number 12 of 25. Both my daughters are born on the 12th, think this one will be a keeper

My GEC order arrived...

Awesome GEC's Trand!

I've been so tempted by that grape bone EO...but I can't, waiting for the Outlaw Jack to come out.

But, because it's Barlow month and I've been looking at so many Barlow's, I stumbled across two today...and now I'm in trouble again. Case tested red barnboard Barlow in ATS-34, and another Case Barlow with Snakewood handles...

This place is dangerous.

I have a AG Russell Rancher in yellow on order:

Update:

Received my AG Russell Rancher in the mail today. This is my first AG Russell knife. Honestly did not know what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised overall with fit (blade centering great, shield and pins nicely flush, great color). Pull was very nice about a 5.

Finish was not too bad considering the price of the knife. Blade had some kind of stain on it (not rust), backspring was not completely smooth, some scratches remained. Box came with one end torn off and taped shut. Since AG Russell doesn't sell returns I can only surmise that it came from factory that way.

Looking forward to using it since so many folks here have this one.

I just ordered a GEC #33 Conductor in Horn Handles (Tidioute Series)... now the wait beginns ;)

and

I just think about ordering a Carl Schlieper Muskrat... maybe, maybe not

UPDATE just right now:

I ordered a small Carl Schlieper Congress in blue acrylic handles and the Muskrat :D

Kind regards
Andi

Muskrat compared to Peanut... I think, that the regular size of a Muskrat, isn´t it?

You can see some glue at the side of the shield on the bone scales... not very beautiful, but it doesn´t matter

And a shot with opened blades... I couldn´t resist ;)

I think both will make very nice EDC-knives. I´ve never owned a Muskrat before, but handling it the first times, I think I really like it. :)

Kind regards
Andi

Great knives Andi, congrats!
I only have a couple Eye Brand, and your pics of the half congress are way better than mine! I carry it quite a bit in my watch pocket, it's a sweet little slicer.

HI Jake!

I ordered the #33 last week and a half ago... let´s have a look, who´s will arrive earlier ;) I believe, there´s no doubt :D

Kind regards
Andi

Would a Skookum qualify as traditional? I am also contemplating ordering a Hudson Bay camp knife from Scott Gossman. Waiting to see if the knife shop I contacted at the beginning of the year can squeeze me in for a Case Lanny's clip. Going on vacation on Friday, want to stop at a knife shop "down the shore" on the way home next week, get my Queen slimline trapper sharpened and pick up another slipjoint, hopefully a CV Case sowbelly with stag scales.

Andi, I hope so! :D Of course, I wouldn't mind traveling to Europe to buy some knives. ;) I have actually ordered traditional knives from France and Japan... takes a while... and I'm always nervous about the international shipping.

Finally gave in to the allure of the Case mini copperlock and picked up the natural bone listed here by jdracing. This is the third Case knife he has supplied me. One of these days I'm just going to drive over to his house and see what all treasures he has.

jd said to me in one of our email messages today how much he liked the look of the natural bone. I was thinking about trying another dye job on this one, since my mini copperhead turned out to my satisfaction. I'll wait to see it in person before I decide.

Got something special arriving tomorrow, with a Wharncliffe main, chestnut jigged bone handles and it's all this forum's fault :D
