Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

I also just paid for an ebony 97.

A smooth dark red bone Case sowbelly and a Northwoods Fremont jack should be here on Thursday.

Went full friction with these two. I intend to modify both, to Peasant I will install a sturdier stop pin, make a back spacer (aluminium?) and shape the handle more to my taste. With the higonokami I will experiment a folding leather handle/sheath combo that will rotate around a pin attached through the lanyard hole. Of course the idea with the higo is nothing new, as proved by Bladeforums. Stay tuned.

Uggghhhh........ I just ordered another Remington Boy Scout knife. I think I'm gonna have to put some knives up for sale to cover the cost of this one.

Ouch!!! My wallet is bleeding.

Buzz, you could always send it to me. That way you wouldn’t constantly see it to remind yourself how much you spent on it:D

Indeed, it's one of my favorites. However I just topped that price this weekend; now 300 is the most I've spent on one knife.

It’s funny that I’m so cheap when it comes to traditionals. Back when I was into modern fixed blades and tactical folders, I thought nothing of dropping serious coin for a Sebenza, Strider, Busse or a special edition Spyderco or Benchmade. Maybe it’s just that traditionals can be had for so much less, if you happen to be in the right place at the right time.

The only knives I've spent that kind of money on are really nice old schrades. It's worth it to me.

It’s only vintage traditionals that I’d consider paying that much for now. The combination of craftsmanship, rarity, history and wonderful old jigged bone make them worth the price. As much as I like the knives made today, they just don’t hold the same appeal for me.

Yes, exactly. I'd also pay big money for a Tony or Reese Bose, but I would need really big money.
