Those are nice looking knives... if I can get over the sticker shock, I might have to see about getting one. That purple color is just really nice.... Good for your wife for getting it. Seems like the GEC's are a little difficult to find sometimes.Hornetguy, it's a GEC #72 violet bone
Broke down and ordered a Bear and Son barlow, with red stag bone handle, and 1095 carbon steel... thought I'd give them another try. Last Bear I had was a long time ago, and I was sort of indifferent about it... not bad, not great. We'll see if they've improved.
This is a stock photo...
Hope you have more luck with them than i have had!!!

I just hope yours is good, because my last 3 were complete "c--p" . I returned the first 2 and kept the 3rd for a junk tool, because i got sick of paying postage. All mine had shocking blade play, especially up and down play. Was a pity because i really liked the knives. Hope you do not have any problems with yours....yeah, I think it's sort of a crapshoot.... hopefully more "shoot" than "crap"... I read quite a few good reviews from folks that had bought them. Biggest complaint seemed to be blades that were hard to open.
We'll see.
I ordered one of these sweet-looking Sunfishes, too. Just today. Also have this AGR Sunfish in stabilized blue oak, but it won’t be available until July.
