Le Thiers Nature by Fontenille Pataud, boxwood handle, 14C28 steel.
I have knives in ebony, rosewood, desert ironwood, African blackwood, olive wood, beechwood, juniper, curly birch, etc. I considered another olive wood, it's so beautiful. I also like pistachio, walnut, and many other woods. I know boxwood is not everyone's cuppa tea, but I love it. And it's very traditional! Anyway, I've been looking at it for months, and just ordered it tonight. The only things I was wavering on was the size: the Pocket (10 cm) or the Nature (11.5 cm), and whether to get my initials chiseled on the backspring (before the heat treat). I went with the larger knife and the initials.
Boxwood, eh? I wasn't expecting that. Premium steel. Is it the nitrogen treat 14c28, or not?
Well, I promised myself I wasn't going to buy any new knives, except the Forum knife.....
Famous last words!
I've been on a small fixed blade kick for awhile, and have been looking at what Boker has to offer. I picked up a Nessmi, which I really like but then the Pry Mini 1674 caught my eye. 5 1/4" Amboina and N690 by Bohler. It's a Jesper Voxnaes collaboration. I think the belt sheath is what pushed me over the edge on this one. Individually Serialized, 343 made. I had a hard time finding one!

Well everybody complained so much about the Beer & Sasage knife I'm sure it's gonna be a huge hit. So I got one on order just as soon as I could.

Well, that was colossally disappointing. Apparently Case delrin doesn't take dye at all. Oh well. Nice knife regardless.IMHO, once we get past the knife (or more) we need for tasks we do and start getting knives we want, aesthetics becomes a driver. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Looking forward to see what you decide.![]()

Did it look anything like this? After a while of waiting and watching, I was finally able to get a deal on a GEC 142216 in Ivory bone covers. It isn't quite the darker jigged bone that I have been looking for, but now I have an excuse to buy yet another knife!
And then just today I happened to stumble coincidentally into a drop of the 33 conductors - though I missed out on the stag, I was able to secure a brown jig bone example!
I prefer smaller knives, as they fit in the pocket better (and adhere to my local metropolis' goofy knife laws), so I can't wait to get these in hand!
