The sissy bar, back rest, and rear carrier came today...they may not get put on til Monday, though

Atoma 1200 diamond flatstone and stone holder. I have used my spyderco ceramic stone for ages now but wanted something bit larger. Also the ceramic stone has started to suffer from edges and it's slightly uneven (I'll have to see if I'll ever arse to flatten it). At times it also feels that the spyderco gets a bit too dirty too fast.
I'll see how that diamond works and then possibly invest into coarser ones for regrinding if I like it. Also I am interested if the diamonds work at all for Japanese paper steels or if it's too coarse for them.

I just ordered this awesome tool board for my Chapman driver set.
They're kind of pricey but should be worth the $250.

I only currently have and use 3 racks worth of bits ( I do need some of the long hex bits ) but I have 5 different Chapman handles plus a couple handles I've made myself and am at the point where none of the cases they offer are sufficient.
the cool thing is that each bar attaches with magnets so they can be moved around or just pulled off to take with you if you have this thing mounted to your wall.

I placed another order with Chapman MFG.
10 particular bits I didn't have including some of the long hex, a couple more orange bit racks, a 6" extension, a set screw locking extension, a set screw locking handle, and one of their slim " ESD " handles.
I was hoping they'd now have a flat blade large enough for buttstock mounting screws, but the #19 that I have is still the largest one they make.

Most of their bits have gone up about 20 cents the past few years, but the value is still there and my total including shipping was only $61.

Since my last post, I've ordered and installed a windscreen... then ordered a rider's backrest (and mount). I also was lucky enough to find a Pitbull lift within a reasonable drive; so I have that now 😁.

Another pair of Diamond Gusset jean co carpenter shorts, these in a heavy duck canvas instead of denim.
It's funny that I bought about 8 pairs of the $20 wranger denim shorts around the same time a few years ago and all 5 of the carpenter shorts have ripped down the ass starting from the top right corner of the left rear pocket but the 3 regular denim shorts that I mistakenly bought haven't.
the last 2 pairs of carpenters haven't fully ripped yet actually, one has the 3/8 hole started and the other has started to rip.
I don't expect to get another month out of them.
Wranglers used to be my GO-TO brand but I've had bad luck the past few years.

The Diamond Gusset shorts are significantly better made, and American made too so they're well worth 3x the price.
I just wish they made pants in my size.

I have my pre-order in for the Sage 5 in Rex 121. Just waiting on the email now. I've listened to people talk about Rex 121 for years now, like it's some kind of a mythical material. It's gonna be kinda cool to actually have it in my collection.

So last week I ordered 3 colors of RIT dye for s knife dying project, I ordered them through Ebay but they were shipped through Scamazon and apparently were shipped separately for dome reason so I'm still waiting on the orange which is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

The annoying part about this whole thing is the seller.
They instantly responded to confirm my order then a couple more times to confirm that it had shipped ( always just a way to bring up feedback) then on Wednesday evening they message me before I had actually received my package saying " you've had your order awhile already and haven't left me any positive feedback yet, would you please leave me some positive feedback ".
Apparently it had have just been delivered when they pestered me with " you've had your order for awhile " because I found it out front the next morning.
I think they've given up hope of trying to pester that positive feedback out of me because they promptly responded when I messaged about the rest of my order and I haven't heard anything since.

A travel wallet from Huvs leather works.

I make my own for the most part but it’s good to support other makers. And I hate dealing with gussets.

Should fit everything from my passport to my phone while on vacation.

New laptop specifically designed to run Linux. (Ships with Ubuntu on it, not Windows.) System 76 Pangolin. Pricey, but should be pretty bomb proof.

A Cold Steel walk-about polypropylene walking stick.
A Cold Steel heavy duty aluminum cane.

I have a nice oak walking stick, but I don't like using it in the rain. Despite what the city tourist bureau says, San Diego does get rain; and I still walk if it is raining.,

Worth every penny. Slicker than snot and faster than a bat out of Piccadilly.

Lately I have been going through some problems with trying to source a couple of replacement bearings.
I measured with my vernier caliper and ordered some off Ebay that didn't fit so I bought a cheap digital caliper today to measure more accurately and just ordered some others from Bearings Direct, but I'm assuming the spec is no longer produced and these likely won't be right either.
Since the particular items I need the bearings for are over 50 years old I assumed there would be no chance of finding originals, but on a whim I decided to search the make / model # and they happen to be all over Ebay NOS.

Anyways long story short I ordered some bearings ,then ordered some more, and will probably have to order some more for a 3rd time.

Catch-22. You need the bearings so that the caliper can make accurate measurements. But you need to accurately measure the old bearings with the caliper so you can get the right replacements.
