Wow those handles are looking sharp. I like the spacers and the direction you are heading for contours.

Both handles are rough-shaped. Tomorrow I'll clean up the profile and tapers of both guards, and maybe polish and etch them.

Cocobolo scales and thin koa spacers:

Some leftovers put together. Antler, brass and desert ironwood:

Roling skin and a nice hand finish. I prefer the scratch pattern to follow the edge, not go in a straight line:

I've had this block of amboyna burl for a long time. Finaly time to cut it up :)

Hi guys. I just finished my first knife so I thought i would share it. It's made from a file. With a black cherry handle

Looking good for a first knife there buddy! :)

My advice is do some more sanding on the handle with finer grit paper and give the wood a few coats of cooking oil to seal the grain from wet n muck .

Keep up the good work, you'll be as good as these guys in no time!

Stainless damascus and cocobolo.

Nice looking work fellas! This is my favorite result but my least favorite process! First time polishing cpm154 and at 61 rd it's a pain in the butt. I only did this because a good buddy asked. I think from now on all my polished blades will be 440c at about 57rc:D

I just sent off 8 blocks of curly maple and 3 blocks of California buckeye burl to k&g. Does anyone know what kinda turnaround time I should expect?

Some where from about three weeks to a month and a half depending on how backed up they are and if you are having anything died or just clear? Was it at 10% or less?

10" chopper, made of 1/4" adamantium...

Nathan,
Very cool! Is adatainum related to unabtainium?

4 were dyed. I don't have a way to check moisture but I told them to check it and kiln dry if needed. Thanks!

Harbor Freight has a cheap hand held. I use a nicer one that I paid $150.00 or so a few years back. This is a 10th of the price and others tell me they work for what we need for testing woods.
