Guess this is a good place to start.
Fairly new knife maker; still under 25 knives built.
Here is a set of twins: 1084, wenge, copper, g10, and curly maple.

This is my newest project. Picked up a couple kilns for pretty cheap. Going to put a new thermocoupler and digital temp display on the small one and I'm going to try to convert the bigger one into a gas forge. Well, that's the plan anyway..

Trying a new edge grind on this quite larger tanto style fixed blade, I really like how it came out :)

In an unheard of turn of events, my wife actually benefits directly from my hobby. Prior to my foray into knife making, I would never have considered using steel for these leg supports. My wife finished the table top and legs and then told me to "just attach the legs" since there was no room, or paint left to make an apron to attach them, I fabricated these brackets from mild steel. She is happy with the look. Thank God. I will be finishing the top with what else? Epoxy.

Working on my soldering skills as it applies to knives. Just working with an old schrade 165OT

And more recently (keep in mind please I have not made my KMG go roundy round yet, I need to get that VFD to make that happen). So more recently I cut out five blanks paying homage to the Schrade 165OT, and for some reason I felt like cutting out a Karambit blank as well (no clue how to grind/ shape one of these other than by hand).

Here are the 5th and 6th knives I've made. My version of the Kephart design which I really enjoy using.

First has green canvas Micarta with brass Corby bolts.

Second has Oregon maple burl, fiber spacers, brass spacers, buffalo horn and curly Koa with white liners and brass Corby bolts.

Most of the knives I make will go as gifts to family and friends...a few will be for personal use.
They aren't perfect, but I'm having fun learning.

Heat treat was done by Peters...everything else was done by me in my garage.

Nice. I made my first in my carport, in the winter. Thankfully I moved and have a garage and shop space now. I really feel for guys who want to do this and live in an apartment. Where there's a will, there's a way!

Yeap, apartment dweller here and I've found plans for a collapsible work table and gotta figure out the best way to attach my vise, but gonna make it work with the table, vise, and a filing jig I found on YouTube. Then the only thing that'll slow me down is the weather

Did some tests on my heat treat oven today and the results were good! I was able to get it to hold within a couple degrees any temp I try . However, it did take almost 45min to get up to 1900f. But I think once I patch up some areas around the door with some refractory cement and get a better seal on the door it should heat up a little faster. Also, now that I know it works I'm going to try to wire up a PID temp control to it.

Second attempt at ironwood. First time I tried to use it I snapped the knife in half right when I was ready to attach the scales. (Being dumb on my part). I'm really happy with how this turned out.
