Finished this skinner yesterday. I've been designing this one for awhile so it feels good to see the end product. Originally it wasn't supposed to have bolsters but I broke one of the scales at the front pin hole. I think it came out better with the carbon fiber anyway. .130 AEB-L at 61 rc, stabilized and dyed redwood burl, carbon fiber bolsters and pins.

Many years ago I made for my brother a blade that looks just like that one for deer. He loved it!..I imagine that one will work and look great to it,s user.

What a cool idea! I'm just starting to research how to make some basic leather sheaths. I'll put this in the memory bank. Thanks for sharing!

I can't take credit for it. I learned it here but I can't remember who from.
I only leave it in the vaccum bag for about 10 minutes, then I pull the knife out and hit it with a heat gun to lock the shape in. Saves a lot of time.

Working on my latest design for a skeletonized neck knife in CPM-20CV. 5/32" thick, flat V grind, big ol' harpoon style swedge. The WharnPoon.

Here I thought I was being creative lol. It seems like it will be very handy. Hopefully it gets some use here in the next few weeks.

I should have looked harder. Looked like a piece of wood with a dent in it. :\
I learned a pretty valuable lesson about grinder safety this weekend. Never lay a blade on the belly of the belt to keep it out of the dust while you work on the drill press. That was a pretty big suprise when I came back later and flipped on my grinder.

I thought I was being Totally creative on my Rhino Chop design, Then someone showed me a Spanish Culinary knife that was identical in profile.

LOL There isn't much new in the world of knife patterns. :D

It's a 2x72 belt where the abrasive surface is delaminating from the joint backing.

Dude! You need some new belts! When I started another maker told me to use belts as if they were free.
My production times went down and the quality of my work went up!
