Started my kydex press a healthy 1'x3' I wanted something that would allow me to make sheathes for larger blades. Now I just need to order the foam.

JR - Thanks!

What kind of adhesive/resin did you use to set the twine on those? I need to try one I really like the way that big one looks. Grippy.

Systems 3 clear coat but west systems 207 works too. Its pretty grippy.

Is it pretty thin? Do you wrap and then wet with epoxy, or do you wet the twine and wrap wet?

It's thin but not like water thin. Wrap first then coat. Let it soak and then use a lint free rag to squeeze the excess out and as it cures start patting things down. Once it's cured you can go over it with 400-600 grit paper. I got this from an older post of Rick's and Stacy's and it works well for me.

That's the 2nd best hunting knife I have ever seen Adam, when you're finished with my knives and make a video of the completed works, then people can see what the best hunting knife is that I have ever seen; ok?

:D LOL!!!

Excellent work there Adam... very nice.

I use a cut up sleeping mat from Walmart in mine.

Ive used those in the past and they work, but I, just going to buy a roll of neoprene foam I found a place online that sells it in 60 by 80 inch sheets so with that amount plus flipping it around once it's worn out it should be enough to last me forever.

Thanks Guys,

Coke your first blade is done waiting for kydex and your second blade is almost ready for scales :)

Video will be coming.

I've done all scandis so far.. This is my first flat grind. I managed to sand through the top of the plung line. Also, knowing I would destoy the edge if I attempted to use my belt grinder free hand, I decided on my edgepro. Worked fine except I created a high spot where a bit to much pressure was used. 1084/ 5/32 8 1/2 inches

Just cranking away on some more blades this week. This one is from a while back but I had to post it. Probably my favorite knife I've made to date. :D

Man you guts make some beauties. Can't wait to finally get up and running. I could be attempting knives with a 2x42 and a hand drill but it's just WAY too frustrating. So got myself a big boy grinder. Here it is all painted. Just gotta weld it together and get the rest of the parts.

...
Mknife that checkering is outstanding! Did you use some kind of guide with a checkering file? Are you going to point them up a bit with a triangle file or leave as is? 30 LPI?

Grazie. I use a Grobet Swiss Pattern File Checkerings Hand 6 Inch Cut 00, 20 lines per inch.
I do not use guides, but with a pen make a sign for the inclination that must have the file (angle of 35 ° respect to the knife length).
