Here's my latest, a big'un for me...12"overall full tang bowie with a 7 3/8 blade. Features my 1st 30 degree dovetail bolsters in nickel silver (1st any bolsters really but a few decent guards so I wasn't too green). Affixed with 3 internal threaded rods with marine epoxy. It's finished all around to 2000 grit. Granadillo scales to 1200 grit.

Quick question if anyone knows... a tiny void emerged in the nickel silver when shaping. Barely visible, I could hardly put a needle in it and I was able to shape almost completely past it but is that normal?

And a tip if I may hopefully help someone and give something back... I ground the dovetail at 80 grit on a 12" disk and when dry fitting it wasn't too tight. So I carefully freehand sanded at 320 and that helped a bunch, slow and easy to not rock the steel backing the paper and round the edges...Am I on the right track there or is there a better way? Still not as tight as the masters here but pretty good.

I've got mine up and running now and I have to say it was worth the wait. There is no vibration and less noise and it tracks perfectly.
I was ready to pull the plug on my order a number of times out of frustration with the wait time but I'm glad I waited. It's so much better than my KMG. I'm still using the KMG but only for handle shaping.
ya, but a YEAR ? i would have lost my mind lol
Haha yeah I ordered last December Haha

Then because I was trying to be patient and not bug them (because they will straight up tell you if you dont want to wait buy another grinder )

My order SLIPPED THROUGH THE EMAIL CRACKS!

So I emailed them again last week to see what's up and he told me sorry my order got skipped and that I would have to wait 3 to 4 monthes.........

I told them to make it. f&%f ing right! Because if they want to claim they make the best. They need to back it up with the best SERVICE after a guy had waited since December with emails from George saying I was on the list :)

I got an email a few days later with an apology and a notice they are putting one out for me tomorrow :)

I'm still trying to see what add ons George is selling besides big work tables and big contact wheel.

I WANT IT ALL lol

Spent some time at the anvil. First I made myself some new tongs.

Then I used the tongs to help forge out a hidden tang hunter from some twist damascus I had made a few weekends ago.

I’m making the hunter for a buddy to give his father for Christmas. I ended up with a small bit of extra steel, so as I surprise I also forged out a little bird and trout to give my buddy. This way he and his father will both have a knife from the same billet of steel.

Finished her up and took some 'pro' pics the best i could haha. I was able to save the edge after all and cut my arm by accident seeing if it would shave again. Hope you guys can see how far I've come since joining BF ☺
