Well, here's the last knife I made using my old HF 4"x36" sander. A paring knife for my Mom in 15n20 and Pau Ferro. Edge is 15DPS and I stopped at 240 grit for more 'tooth'. It cuts very well but wire burrs still give me alot of trouble - it takes me way longer than I'd like to get it off.

Pictures really don't do this wood justice -- I am such a huge fan of it. I hand sanded it to 1000 grit then buffed it with white rouge (the chattoyence comes out here). Then I put a couple coats of linseed oil on it (for color), waited about a week, hand sanded it to 1500 grit and buffed it one last time with white rouge.

Still learning, practicing, etc lol -- just finished the handle today so I figured I'd throw some pictures up. Got two babies under 2 so I don't get as much time in the shop as I'd like - but I'm still around! :) Got a sorta camp style knife in 80CRV2 in the works also. I'm really trying to get my hand sanding down on that one and I'm going to order some scotch brite belts soon (so sick of trying to keep the mirror polish scratchless!)

Jeweler-saw'ed a lanyard loop and filed it nice and round, combining two handle silouets.
Working on fine details like these is what makes my clock tick

Muy Bien! I am liking the look of copper more and more.

What's going on?

Today the electrician is over. Adding MORE outlets and lights. Including adding an 18,000 lumen shop light over the grinder. My tired old eyes need all the help they can get.

Why is it no matter how many outlets you have, you're still short one?

What is that ?

T5 ?
6500K daylight 4 tubes ?

LED ?
where did you find it and what's it cost ?

1 12345678910 I believe this is the one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Commerc...grated-LED-Linear-High-Bay-50232161/302456569

To do it again, I'd stick with that power rating (18,000 lumens), but look for something warmer like 4,000K. The 5,000K is too 'clinical' or harsh or hospital like. Also, the CRI is only 80. It would be great to find something closer to 90.

All in all, I've spent a lot of hours under it and am so happy I did it.
Holy crap, that's a high bay light. How high is the ceiling in your shop?

These went out to the winter desert lake camp recently. The bigger one is a 5160 trail cutter, favored for off road trail maintenance. Then two little 5160 bird and trouts and the 440C medium game skinner. Hope they like 'em!

Hopefully I won't be seeing them again;)
