Where are you getting Maxamat? I thought it sounded like a interesting steel. Those are going to be cool. As a side note, how hard can you go before it's hard to get a reading

Scored some from a buddy a year ago.

It was closer to .200" and some pieces had a taper so it needed to be surfaced down.

So I sat on it. Luckily I was able to use the surface grinder at the Burr King booth at Bladeshow West last year.

Perhaps I'll get a chance to use it again this year.
