Nope. I drill 1 hole if I plan for a hidden tang or 2 holes for a full tang knife usually and them chamfer the holes. I use either carbide spade bits or the white tip Milwaukee stone/glass bits from Home Depot to drill the tang holes if I need more.

Just forging some damascus, and nope, it wont be a ladder damascus, tomorow ill forge this bars again!

I think I'll give it a try on the next thin stock long knige I make, which is warpy 14c28n

I use thin steel for fillet and kitchen knives and it seems to keep the warp down a bit.

Borked SGA 😢 They use freaking steel runners on aluminum. Not smart. I'm neutral on KMG right now. Well see if they understand they built shit that bent 1/4" 1018 steel roller bars backed up with .05" thick aluminum ffs 😳just the worst materials I could use for something that should never be able to be moved by 20lb of pressure let alone 45+.

If that works for me should work for everyone . Much easier, much faster and 100% safe way to make knife . What is the difference between using an ordinary HSS drill to drill hole in soft steel and to drill hole in hardened steel with carbide drill bit ?
Never mind , as you say ........................as long as it work for me ;)
You'll never get through HARDENED steel with even HARDENED HSS.

HSS on soft steel , Tungsten carbide on everything else
Well I kinda would be lying there. It's "possible". Depending on your definition of possible. It's not easy. At ALL. But technically speaking possible. Also, WC is one type of carbide. And just so you know, yes, there are just as steels, different standards for usually yes tungsten carbide and cobalt as a binder. Don't ask me the exacts like steel but it's based on the micrometer size of the carbide and percentage of cobalt as the binder. That's a whole nother thing I should know but don't.

What you mean with "possible" ? Drilling hole in hardened steel with TC ?? I already drill hundreds holes in every steel you mentioned in your previous post about steel used in HSS drill bits and that was EASY to do :) If that is what you mean ?

N Natlek na bro haha I meant using HSS bits such as m35 m42 to drill through hardened steel is technically possible. You I think know by now that I'm highly picky and very exact or try to be with my words. It doesn't work out that well 😅 er I misread that. Yes I think that you made my point for me LoL.

I use them to grind hole in steel up to 50 Hrc for now .There is no point to use them on higher hardness . Why should I do that / even if they maybe can drill in 60 hrc / when I have carbide bits for that ?

Ya exactly it's stupid but possible lol. That's all I meant. 😉
