I’m trying to do better taking pictures, natural light, angles, colors, blah, blah, blah. I still suck at it.

finally put some glue on this lil bastard

I'm SOOOO looking forward to finishing another knife. Someone once said that finishing a knife is harder than starting one, and to that I say; no sh!t Sherlock!

That was my original plan and I failed miserably at it twice. I'm still debating to myself whether I should try again or abandon this route.
Did you try with ray skin underneath? I found that having something a little more "grippy" under the wrap helps.

I know there are some good tutorials online, so you might find a good one and watch it a bunch of times.

I've never actually used the little paper triangles that traditional techniques call for, but I wonder if thoes might make a difference too...

I've never tried with ray skin underneath, it's quite difficult to source it in Greece. Nor the paper triangles, I suspect they would help to keep the diamond pattern more consistent.

In the end, I abandonded the eastern inspired concept for now and made a standard fighter.

Those handles are part of your style. When I think of Bowie knives I think Tony Mont!

Well, I've got some fresh zirconia belts from Red Label Abrasives, a bar of V-Toku 2 san mai, some semi profiled blanks in S90V, a project called "The Brute" to finish and a re-handle on a Western Bowie on my plate. And my wife is leaving for Oklahoma on Monday. And there's a lull in my work schedule. Oh, and warmer weather to be out in my shop! I know I don't have near enough steel! If I run out of steel maybe I can clean up my shop....maybe I should have ordered more steel?
