I used to have the bucket closer to the bottom wheel of the grinder with a stand but ditched the idea because I had to replace the water too frequently.
sounds like it was doing the job. Have you considering using a little strainer to scoop out the goop so you don't have to change out the water as often? Judging by your picture, it looks like your bucket isn't helping you much with that micarta dust

Even some plastic tubing, cheap used household vacuum cleaner and a plastic bucket in between would do a good job for micarta. Less work attaching it once then cleaning that mess after every handle.

Here's one I finished yesterday, going straight into my personal collection 😁. 8" Oal, 3-3/4" blade, made of 0.120" Z-FiNit.

Was supposed to have peened Ti pins but that didn't go as planned :P ..ended up fixing delamination (most of it) around the holes and putting G10 rod instead

Finished this up and put it to work a little today. Absolute laser to cut with, and really fun to use. There were some good challenges to stretch my learning on this, laying out the facets, better fitting at the shoulders of the tang…etc. I try to challenge my comfort zone with every build keep learning everything I can. Thanks for looking.

Not really knife related, but it is forging practice and hammer control. (OK, not knife related at all...) Anyway, a fellow artist at the space I rent asked if I could help trick out a bike for his kid, and have it finished in a week. Here's what we came up with. I wish I had more time to plan and forge, would have done it in fewer pieces so as to avoid having to weld and grind the joints. Still a fun project. Can't wait to see the bike finished.
