What's going on in your shop? Show us whats going on, and talk a bit about your work!

Wait until you realize that it has a 2" opening ;) and 30+$ a fill ffs. You doing stock removal? Cryo is useless in forging alloys.
do you think I didn't realize it has a 2" opening when I bought it, or that I hadn't researched availability and cost of liquid nitrogen?

Did I say that? Na. Please don't stick words in my mouth. I'm simply stating that a 10?L LN2 dewar does not last as long as I personally thought it would, obviously multiple variable dependencies. calm down man. But no offense, the people who know what they're doing for hobby sized operations, get LN2 before a furnace so you HT in a forge im assuming? And no - nothing wrong with that and basic carbon-manganese steel.

Tiktok. Nuff said 😂

That was unnecessary I'm aware. I had to however, the guy left the opening WIDE. It's called sarcasm Lorien Lorien

That is Cool. But. Are the designs CNCd? They look it. How did you CNC it with what kind of end mill? I don't think I have to explain stress risers which, I see about 101k not so serious ones. Fiber laser. Please read up on how lasers melt steel brother. It's not smart. Neat looking? Sure.

They are fiber laser engraved, not machined.

That guy was promptly banned, he keeps making new accounts and giving everyone a hard time. Great looking knife, wish I had known you were at bladeshow I would have stopped by.

I also got some work done. Last of 1.4034 in 1.5mm, got NitroB, D2 and 14c28n.

The left one is used 120 ceramic and the right one is fresh 400 ao, doesn't look like much difference though. They will get the very fine scotchbrite and a quick polish on a cork belt.

Peened the bolster on the last one and glued the handles, still debating on how to do pins. Peen over and try to round the head or countersink and peen them in the hole and carefully file/sand flush. Maybe no peening at all but just glue them in? Brass corbies would be nice but I don't have any.

I'm perfectly calm. And you're acting like an idiot.

That fellow is gone, let's just move on. Unfortunately, he will likely be back with a new name. If he pops up again, report the post immediately.

Kiln running off the PID!

Open the tool box to let some of the heat out! It seems to go past set point by about 8 degrees, then it comes back down in about 10 min and holds nice there:

Just got this 52100 utility knife in for a resharpening! The customer had done exactly what I told him to do which is to use the knife! Since he hadn't damaged the edge but only dulled it I decided to lower the edge angle a little bit to give him a real cutting experience! (Plus I made him a kydex sheath just for the heck of it the original one was leather)1656878698953.jpg1656878766661.jpg1656878836430.jpg1656878893477.jpg1656878932451.jpg

I offered to make a prize table knife for a FN FAL shoot this weekend. A fellow FAL builder donated a junk Israeli stock that I am using for the scales. The steel is 5160, it will have the beech and black G10 with white liners & blue G10 pins. Also made a few faux locking shoulders to inlay into the beech. I hope it turns out as cool as it looks in my head!
