I got a Bunch of this really neat stiff, hard, rubber-like material out of an automation system. Not sure exactly what it is?

That wonderful feeling when the osage breaks Instead of your experimental glue joint with shear impacts...... :D

Did my first heat treat with my new oven. Extremely pleased with the performance. Hit 1550 in about 40 minutes. Heat treated an 8670 blank that came out past 64RC per my testing chisels from Dragon's breath forge.

I gotta go see Matt for some help using his chisels! I got a set but haven't fully figured them out yet!

I’ll have to do a video on those, I got a set from Matt and they work great. Nice thing is you can test the actual edge, kinda hard to use a hardness tester to test core steels on San mai or forged blades that aren’t ground completely clean/flat.

Crudely roughed out some scales. Will contour and clean them up more later.
This material is a tiny bit rubberier than teroturf. Very similar. Like a rubber version of UHMW. I like it. It machines clean, no obvious smell.

I'm going to beat this testing out the glue, and the Bos heat treating for 3v?
