My cable damascus Bowie is on its way back from HT so I'm trying to get the dog bone handle pieces ready. I'm taking tips from an old WIP from John White.
The frame is 3/16" 1018 steel and will be polished and blued as black as possible. It is sandwiched by 0.032" nickel silver making the frame 1/4" to match the tang. The guard is also 1018 and will be polished then blued to black. The spacer between the guard and handle is three layers of nickel silver and two of the 1018. The wood is African Blackwood and still needs the facets ground. I have some 3/16" steel ball bearings that I will attempt to flatten into hemispheres and drill to attach pins...

Here's an 11" tanto I forged from ApexUltra. Width tapers from 34-20mm and thickness from 9-4mm, tempered somewhere under 65HRC. Tsuba is wrought iron with brass seppa, copper for everything else. Black walnut and supertusk on the saya. Wrapped everything in metallic brocade followed by my attempt at jabara maki.
