Back home and here is the haul from Blade: Stabilized curly claro walnut, ironwood, amboyna burl, crosscut carbon fiber and micarta (to include some old westinghouse), linen micarta, liner material...and something I have been looking seeking for many years. Stainless damascus clad CPM 440V (S90V). these are from Mike Norris. I asked him about them at Blade and he told me he remembers these pieces and that they are 20-25 years old, and there will be no more made. I do not have a plan for them yet. Also ordered more S90V and bought a bunch of belts.

Most importantly, I saw many old friends and met several new ones!

man, I didn't even LOOK at materials. SAD! Next year, if I go, will be the year for picking up cool stuff to make knives from.

back to work! Just finished bonding this guard on.

That puukko filet came out great.
Thanks, it's first time I did this type of handle and I was surprised how good it fits the hand. I also liked how fast and simple the procedure on the handle was and that you can basically finish the handle on the platen. Will definetly be doing more of these (first one for myself). 😁

Here's my newest compact version of my Black River Hunter ready to ship, about a 4 1/4" blade instead of 5". The customer chose Osage Orange and the turquoise G10. that's a homemade mosaic pin. 23-15 2.jpg23-15 3.jpg23-15 4.jpg

Turned out nice, if you would take a Qtip and darken your mark and the 8670 on the obverse side and then just lightly sand on a flat surface would really make them stand out.

Stanley, thanks. To use Qtip and darken mark... do I do that with more Ferric Chloride acid on the qtip?
