Finally got the diamond lapping films in. This stuff is a game changer! It is working exceptionally well on hardened cpm10V at 64 RC. Going to work with 800 grit, up to 2000 grit to see how it looks. Only drawback is the paper is EXPENSIVE!

man, I am struggling to get the finish I want. But I'm almost close enough, I think. Should have these all ready for etching by friday, if all goes to plan

S60V, birdseye Siamese Rosewood, and pearl. I like this one. My wife and kids were gone for a couple weeks and I got three knives made in that time. It was fun pretending I was full-time!

Yo! Just saw advanced knife bro got your knives.

He posted on instagram. And i was just thinking. I know i recognize seeing these somewhere. Then i saw the makers mark and it clicked.

Him and pete from cedric and ada are the only two edc youtubers i can stand to watch anymore at this point. So kinda cool seeing some knives from here show up there.

I still use one, those who say you're not a real knifemaker if you don't grind free hand are full of bullsh#d.
Use every tool available to you to make the best possible knife you are able.
Exactly, do those same people use a screw gun instead of a drill press? I think not.

Yeah, I get a real kick out of AKB. He's a very nice guy too.

New prototype edc, handle is inspired by Jerry Hossom, who mentored me early on in handle design and ergonomic flow. Rough shaped the handle, now to finish sanding it and give it an edge. This one will likely ride on my belt to test to handle in everyday tasks, but I will be making at least 2 more, one in 10V (will also get a high polish) and one in S90V.

What do ya'll think. I can tell you now, it is super comfortable in the hand! Pics aren't great will get better ones when the handle is finally done.

BTW...no one ever ask me to do this again.
Hey. The good thing about polishing up 10v to a mirror. Is its a lot harder to accidentally pick up scratches.

I bet it will do pretty well. I never take my kitchen knives in it above like 600-800 at the highest. And the corrosion resistance is pretty good. I imagine it will do nicely on that.

Well provided you ran these with a low temp temper.

If not, it should still be better than a simple carbon steel still obviously. But might not have as good of a resistance.

I have made a bit more progress with this one. The grinding jig has worked really well, best ricasso grind yet for me. I am really pleased with the process that I have gone through with this knife.
My brief was a slicey 3 1/2" everyday carry that will take a nice patina and be easy to sharpen. The design is my own, I selected thin 1084 to make it from and decided to go for a fine grain, run it hard at 64 whilst still being relatively easy to sharpen. I am amazed how this has turned out so far, It just "looks right" the proportions are really good (too me).EDC.jpg
The sharpening turned out to be more difficult than I anticipated, its more like D2 than 1084, and I cant make up my mind to go dark or light with the handle,

I finally finished up another knife like the one I did for last years kitchen KITH, sort of a santoku style. I was worried my KITH knife was too thick with too tall of a secondary bevel, so one of my goals with this one was to go thinner. It’s better, but I’ve obviously still got a lot of room for improvement. This one’s going to my brother who considers himself quite the home chef. Anyways, it’s AEB-L, acacia burl from Ben @Greenberg Woods , brass Corby bolts, and black G10 liners.
