Here’s a Bowie I finished up earlier today. The blade is D2 with a maple burl handle, brass guard, and G10 spacers.

Good morning, all. This billet has been sitting on the bench for almost 4 years and finally got the 5-8TPI bandsaw blade and out to my buddy's shop to help rehab his old saw in order to split it in half.

There's a 120 layer piece on the bottom, with a combination of 1084, 1084 with 2% Ni and 1084 with 4% Ni and some damascus clouds on the top.

I'm a little bummed that for the first couple inches (on the right) I didn't have the set-screw holding the table level tight enough after rehabbing his old saw, but very glad I checked. It didn't wander enough to ruin the billet, just enough to look bad.
This took me about 1-1/2 hours to split and if I had fully tightened the set-screw, this would have been almost a perfect cut as shown on the left side.
Hopefully this is the re-start of me getting back into regular knife making and my pattern-welding experiments. (And hoping it's not another few years before the next in progress picture.)😟

I went dumpster diving in my scrap bin a few weeks ago and decided to give a few past failures another shot.
Here’s how they started:

Here’s where they’re at now. Had to redo the heat treat on the bottom 3. I’ll probably tinker with the profiles a little more and move a pin hole or two but I think they might actually work out.
