What's going on in your shop? Show us whats going on, and talk a bit about your work!

Weekend work, 440V, 440V core damascus and S90V bird and trout knives. Also profiled an edc in old 440V (S60V) core Mike Norris damascus, but it's out in the shop...and I'm too lazy to go get it.

Got new Pheer 454 up and running today. Finally had time and weather cooperating. Right now it has a 1hp motor with a KBC27 VFC. Had to go with smaller motor due to power restraints.
But I’ll be able to upgrade to a 1.5hp once I get a true shop set up. Right now have to roll stuff out of garage to play, hence the gangsta set-up on a miter saw/multi-tool rail system. First two blades ground on this bad boy. Playing around with a “ScotchBrite” finish. These are finished at a fine grit Maverick brand Surface Conditioning belt. One question, are there huge differences between brand finishes? Basically are 3M belts worth the money?

Getting ready for the Harrisonburg Show. Took a little break and dapped out a bunch of Indian Head nickels. and tig welded rings on te back. They can be used as buttons on rendezvous gear or sheath concho and frog buttons.
I also finished cutting upNickel concho.jpgNickel concho 1.jpgFossil Walrus 2.jpgfossil walrus 3.jpgNickel concho 3.jpgfossil walrus 4.jpgfossil walrus group.jpg a section of fossil walrus tusk. By carefully cutting it I got three sets of scales and three slabs of core (tapioca). I didn't get great shots of te walrus. It looks much better in the hand. The coin buttons were also a bear to photograph with the reflection. My reflection is in every one.

Thank you kindly T Taz

It is the Edge-C wharncliffe variant. Stands for every day gentleman’s carry. Pretty aggressive angle so I can understand your mpression.

120 grit and totally keeping the mill scale flats.

Freehand slack belt sharpened with light pressure to under 20 dps and crowned spine both with 36 grit.

Primary geometry thinned a bit more on 120 grit and edge bevel refined to the same grit, spine crowned on worn 120 grit, then spine crowning progressed to worn 220 grit which is the step the jimping gets included on.

Using the best grinder I’ve been able to afford and have room for so far:

My MagnaCut only surface conditioning belts and the WD-40 trick which I just learned from you guys in another thread a week and a half ago and which has been a game changer for me so far on the handful of blades I’ve used it on

Takes me longer to decide on a handle material than to make a knife 🤣

But we’re gonna do stabilized Birdseye maple.

What else do I not have room for? A band saw🤣

That's really neat.
