Hydrate, rest, and get better quickly!Bill, I got sick for the first time I can remember in a long while, and have been taking it easy.
what belt are you in karate?
Too easy to make mistakes when sick,
Plaid.
I have studied multiple arts most of my life and love all of them. I hate how divisive folks get instead of encouraging people to study/practice what they enjoy. You are spot on!When I was younger, I did forms of Karate with intricate belt systems including mid-steps like brown with a black stripe. Later in life, I did stuff where the only belt was black and it didn't come quickly or easily. More recently, it was just a bunch of guys rolling around on the mat and that kind of stuff just wasn't a part of it.
I wouldn't put down the belt systems. I fondly remember passing tests to get them and how proud I was at the time. They are both milestones and heuristics for progress. I think older me has just moved on. Like learning the tea ceremonies in Aikido, it's a thing and offers its own value or personal enrichment. Whether or not that matters to a person is personal.
