What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Wild Willie Wild Willie , Murphjd25 Murphjd25 I just measured with calipers - 0.0 mm (it only shows increments of .1) behind the beautiful, sharp, and oh so shiny Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley edge, and 0.2 mm at the tip. It was originally .5 mm, which is not terrible as production knives go, and on par with many of your OOB Spydercos. But we can do much better, can't we precious.

oh boy... if you are now doing 20.5 regrinds.. ill be shipping mine in. I want to carry that knife more, I am impressed with the locking mech.. but the grind / blade geometry leaves something to be desired. looks great and praying you feel 100% again. take care.

Thank you. I'm at least 80%. Maybe more. And of course, I'd be glad to regrind your knife, make sure you send the blade only though, because the "S" in CBSA stands for shenanigans.

Almost done the hand axe. Reminder: this was started for a friend of mine in Z-finit by another maker (I don't know who, didn't ask) but that maker then decided he couldn't finish the job for whatever reason. He profiled and very roughly ground stress risery partial tang axe, and I cleaned up the grind as best I could, put an edge on, eliminated stress risers and made an unconventional hidden tang suretouch handle. I still have to make a sheath.

I also had a few materials put aside for some unclaimed AEB-L knives so in between glue curing I got those blades ground and also began assembling handles.

Coals are dying down now so I think that's my last refuel an so I'll be heading home soon.

Jason New River Knife Works New River Knife Works just informed me that he's doing a limited time offer with the purchase of any River Hawk knife he still has left in stock, you can get a QSP Penguin. I don't know much about that knife, but either way it's a steal if it comes as a free gift with a River Hawk.

And here are the River Hawks he has left in stock:

The Penguin is a nice knife that hits way above its price point. Flicks open fast and smooth, it's nice and sharp, with good fit and finish. I have three - in micarta, carbon fiber, and G10. I prefer the Micarta for better grip, but the CF looks the best. The only thing I don't know much about is how good the materials are for longevity or heat treatments.

I’m with Josh on these hawk blades, David put a nice thin edge with enforced tip area, what I like best is the curve brings items being cut into the blade rather then slipping off.
