What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Took a bit of a break from the shop this week.
You're not Married now, are ya??? Haha. :0

Sometimes that just happens, and we didn't see it coming....

I know I went away on vacation, and That ........ Happened

Likewise!

I should have taken a few things into account before I said that, not the least of which being the weather. I'll revise it to: I'll get back up there soon.
Valley weather yesterday was less than ideal. Winds blowing 35-60 mph (blowing around that 3-4' of snow we got). Took my 40 minute commute to 70 minutes. Large sections of 10' to zero visibility dodging cars in the ditch and high centered on the drifts in the road the whole way to work (should have pretended I couldn't make it) wind in Palmer was a little (yeah it was nasty) worse. Lost power 20 minutes after I got there (on my way to the office to make coffee). At that time I realized I left my truck bag at home some how (side of the road kit - stove and coffee inside). No coffee. Investigate power loss. Transformer and riser no longer attached to the power pole (it feeds only us)... Bummer. Pull up power outage map. Yeah we are not getting fixed anytime soon. 7 cold, wet, unpleasant hours later we have the heat on it the building but that's it (tore my pants). Generator has to be filled every 10 hours. Finally time to go home. Highway shut down. Back route shut down. Alternate back route passable... Once (sketchy at best). Highway shut down again. 3.5 hours later... Made it home. Just in time to shower and go back out for the Christmas party.

Weather can be a fun one to deal with. Almost reminded me of working in Prudhoe Bay and driving in pase 3 weather (a few groups are exempt and can leave camp as required).

I had my shaman and my riverhawk with me yesterday. That riverhawk was very helpful several times.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Bad pic, no lights in the office. Flash was making things worse.
