This kind of handle geometry feels better in my opinion and doesn't take too long. Literally the time between these two posts plus pic and post time.

Does it involve as much boiling as maple syrup? I made the mistake of doing the only batch I've made on the stove top...no maple down here. we make sugar cane syrup down here....i grow some cane in the yard but for chewing. not setup for syrup making where I live.
it involve boiling it down....I can't remember how many times...been awhile since I've seen it done old florida way. I just shave bark off and chew on it for the juice....like in my second pic. we always did this as kids. i still do it with the small bunch I grow every year.Does it involve as much boiling as maple syrup? I didn't dry it off, that must of been my problem.Just did this one.

Yes. Leave lots of bleed area. Tape everything but the design with painters tape. Don't let any liquid get underneath it. Dry everything extremely well before you etch. I know your pain, believe me I do.
Ok, that's good thinking.
I'll look under mine, I didn't think it darkened?Crag the Brewer three etches and then cleaned the applicator and threw out the pad. I don't recommend waiting longer than that

The big guys start off with reverse osmosis units taking out the first half of the water. It saves time, and wood.Does it involve as much boiling as maple syrup? I made the mistake of doing the only batch I've made on the stove top...![]()
The big guys here use RO too. I had 5 gallon buckets and a stock pot.The big guys start off with reverse osmosis units taking out the first half of the water. It saves time, and wood.
Then they burn the later part. Also helps with color and flavor
13 years in tree care and I still have all of my fingers and toes... There is a small bit missing from one of the mentioned fingers though.Running a tool is like driving, if you do it so much you become bored, you are at risk. Each of my uncles has a pretty scar. One has one across both brows from one handing a little liming saw, no leverage to stop the rotation when the tip hit a branch behind the one he was cutting. Some people run one their whole lives and never get cut. Mine have never cut me when running, only when filing or changing chain. Two rules I never break, stiff left arm and brake before moving.
I do not have one sweet tooth, I have 25. Ask me where the other three went!?.

Very true. Most of the chainsaw accidents I have seen are careless or just stupidity. I tend to get sloppy running a saw when I get tired, so I downsize to lighter ones when that happens. I hate it when you are cutting up trees that have been felled into a jumbled mess and suddenly have one springboard! I have cared for lots of patients with tool accidents- never a noob. One guy took the guard off his circular saw to ‘save time’, and it ran over his leg when he set it down on plywood still running while kneeling.Running a tool is like driving, if you do it so much you become bored, you are at risk.
