What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

After posting that everything else was on hold I changed my mind and decided to make sheaths and finish up the knives I had almost gotten finished. I figured they would just rust if I leave them on the shop for the time it takes to make 20 other knives and getting them finished would only be a couple hours. Well I should have run it by Rich first. But I didn’t. Then when I tried to pull apart the two halves to clean inside before finishing the sheath I spent an hour putting together this happened:

Divine retribution or a manifestation of subconscious guilt?

Anyway I told Rich about it and asked his blessing to take a couple hours to finish those up so I can get them home. He was understanding and said go for it. So I’ll be spending the rest of the shop time this evening getting them done so I’m not worried about them rusting away in the shop and I can focus on Empire Outfitters like a laser until they’re done.

Back to the grind tomorrow.

Didn't end up at the shop today after all. The weather was right for catching up on some administrative work today. And the birth of two new designs, along with discussions of finally making something in CPM 3-V, since I have been asked about it a few times. Nothing set in stone yet, but here's a peek at what may be coming. Top one is looking to be .188" AEB-L and the bottom one (of which there will be two) .188" 3-V.

I think there is a little bit of cleanup left to do on these two, but the AEB-L is good to go. I'm really liking how the G10 comes out when hand textured, that camo stuff looks especially good in the photos, about the same as in person, but the blue G10 looks better in person. The photos seem to give it a touch of some kind of dusty white looking texture for some reason. Anyway, I'm really happy with the feel of all these, and that blue and black handled utility knife is singing to me "don't sell me, don't sell me". Sorry knife, I have to eat.
I really like that longer narrow blade. I think it would make a great meat knife, like a mini boning knife. NICE.

The scale on those is in inches, eh?

Good morning friends, I had something come up Wednesday that I've had to deal with, and has kept me out of the shop most of this week. However, that has been dealt with now, and I'll be back at it again starting today.
