What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Found a little something else at the hardware store I’ve been meaning to grab. Seems I managed to find another way to create more work for myself as that light fixture definitely can’t stay there any more!

Do you know when your tire is partially deflated and you feel the bumps a lot less distinctly? That's what grinding feels like now with this gorilla tape underneath the platen it's pretty sweet.

If the if the gorilla tape doesn't hold long enough they make a version that is grey or black but it's heavier duty.

I’ve had platen pieces fly off at full speed! Not for the faint of heart. See the hole in my tin backstop? Yeah.

You've probably already explained it elsewhere, but does the harpoon feature on the last 2 inches near the tip serve a specific purpose? Is it useful for:

- being used as a hook to move vessels around a campfire;
- adding extra mass at the tip to give more power when chopping;
- strengthening the tip;
- just for looks, it's handsome; or
- some other cool purpose?

Regardless, those grinds are looking great!

Yeah. The double sided tape is super useful
