Not normally a feature I order but since I have a chooper to beat the snot out of I figured why not. I would normally say something like it can't hurt but I'm certain at some point it definitely will. That’s exactly what I thought it was!!Looks very nice with that swedge!
Thank you for buying USA made !
Good to do this , regularly , to prevent runaway stack fire .burn bright, hot and fast.
So is burning seasoned wood and sweeping the chimney...Good to do this , regularly , to prevent runaway stack fire .Not joking !
what's the weight difference between the left overs and the knife?
So is not damping down the airflow too much or often , and having periodic, controlled mini-stack fires .So is burning seasoned wood and sweeping the chimney...
We have plenty of chimney fires every year hereabouts. Mine could stand to be a bit longer, but I get up there and sweep it out every time it warms up enough to let the stove go out.So is not damping down the airflow too much or often , and having periodic, controlled mini-stack fires .
Also a good quality, high efficiency , wood stove ; designed to burn those fumes, that otherwise form creosote build up .
And an exhaust chimney that is long , sturdy , airtight and insulated . That will not tend to cause cooling and deposits of creosote inside .
Our area here, has had too many places burned down from stack fires .
Not generally cold enough, often or long enough , for the local culture to really understand wood burning , or invest much time, money or effort .
Poverty and ignorance... don't help none .
I admit to having some scary close calls, at first , before I figured out a preventative routine . Worked fine for 30y or more .
Anyway , we're beyond wood burning, as our main heat source, now . I won't go back, unless there's no affordable propane available .![]()
