What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Another maker on another forum told me that back locks are surprisingly complex. Linerlocks might be a bit easier, but then I’m no rocket knife surgeon.
I often think some makers try to make things sound more complex than they really are to discourage we, the potential customer. I once made a replacement lock bar for a k55k out of a widgy bar with little more than files and a Dremel.

Was it perfect? No, no it wasn't. However, I did return functionality to the knife. I'm sure given a bit of time, practice, and more appropriate tooling I could do better on subsequent attempts.

Been in high production mode for the past several weeks, and so I have allowed myself to slow down a bit this week and take some time for rehabilitative endeavors. Here is a bit of what has been done in the shop so far though:

Probably not going to have a huge ten knife postal run this week.

I won't get as much done this week as I had set out to at the start of the week. However, I have nearly done as much in the first half of this year as I did all last year. I feel good, but I need to guard against burn out.

There is a lot of truth to this statement. Never forget to take is slower sometimes. 👍🏼

The good news is I haven't asked you to make me a knife this month, so that maybe gets you some extra time to rest :p

I don't get the impression David likes to sit still, least not for very long. where I'll sit on my porch and do nothing for good hour plus and stare at the trees........

I'm guessing his slowing down is still more done in a day, than I get done in a week at home.

Sometimes I do.

I’m sure you give me more credit than I deserve, and yourself less.
