What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Group pic of current WIP before I take a short bike trip to home to play chess and eat dinner hoping I’ll be the only winner.

I'm been thinkin bout it since last night...this David folder project is exciting. big blade, strong lock, close grip to the blade and without a goofy long handle more than needed to enclose the blade folded safely.

I'm not sure how it's going to happen, but im still excited.....

I like folder-over clips that mount to the backspacer and not through the side scales. Might be worth some consideration?

Like these Lion Steel knives, except mounted with normal screws. I need to find pictures of one that is closer to what I mean.

Axial has a good version on there OTF knives without skullcrusher/glassbreaker/hand gouger.

It is so difficult to find the correct picture, even though I know I have seen knife clips mounted in the manor I'm thinking of. The clip has a simple L-bend and it mounds with two screws, but not mounted to the scales. Also, not a bayonet style mount or internally mounted like some SOGs or Kershaws.

Thanks. But tip up for a nearly five inch bladed folder has never made sense to me. So not on mine at least.

Actually this is going to be a “probably not at all”

Meaning positioned for tip up or tip down. Did not say I will design the knife to accommodate multiple types of clips. And tip down has to be an option. Your suggested clip doesn’t accommodate tip down.

I was addressing your no to tip-up. I didn't expect multiple clip options, outside of whatever else fits the hole pattern, of course.

I rarely use clips these days, so my preference leans toward whatever clip stays out of the way the most.

Clear to you, not as clear to me. The “probably not at all” seemed to apply to the immediately preceding strong comment about tip-up on a 5 inch knife. That's the way I took it. 🤷‍♂️
