What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

The "encapsulated hidden tang" method. Great for knives that are likely to be used barehanded in cold environments, or for an out of the ordinary look. I first saw a knife with something like this in a Cliff Stamp video, a big Dan Keffeler chopper with a partial tang. I am sure it was done much differently and with better precision, but it is part of the influence that set me on the path to making things like this:

David,
That is looking very good. I know some may question the narrow edge to spine but since I know the reason, I think it looks awesome! The knife underneath is a nice looing design as well.

Hi Martin, thanks for the kind words. Both are spoken for. The second one is actually from the same dagger blank design that Murphjd and Jlauffer have, except I have modified it so it is no longer a straight copy of Nathan's boot dagger design.

And while awaiting the glue to cure I have begun grinding an EDChef XL (6" blade) in 15N20 and a keychain knife that I think some pink scales and black liners will look nice on, also in 15N20.

By the way, if anyone reading this thread is willing to buy a Spyderco Resilience S35VN plainedge at one of the retailers that now has it in stock, and then tighten the pivot, and ship it to me, I will send you the EDChef XL above once finished. I will also hold off on making the handle so that you can choose what style of handle. The offer goes to the first person to reply to this thread and say they will do it. Thanks. Just be sure to message or email me first before you ship it to me. I have instructions that are important to follow for border crossing folding knives into Canada.

Now it's time to shovel the driveway, since the snow has stopped and the forecast is less than 2 mm over the next week.

Killing time while waiting for the glue to cure. Design is called the Barax (formerly "Barong/Seax hybrid"), so I'm pretty sure I'm going to call this one the Blood Barax. Color scheme was requested by the customer.

I'm your Huckleberry. I'll put in the order once you confirm somebody hasn't already stepped up.
