What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

I don’t normally do this with GG white. But I thought I’d try it out on this filet knife. Longer set time and greater chance of parts shifting but I can do it in stages and grind things flush as needed.

The GG white is waterproof whereas the ca is merely water resistant. More than enough for most applications but this will be on the high seas in humid air for hours at a time so it’s either basic scales or special scales done with the waterproof glue.

I already finished my poutine so you don’t have to hold it.

here's a funny fact....the premier building science engineer for florida climate and correct constr methods is a Canadian. Dr. Joe Lstiburek. everyone in constr flocks to him for advice on wet hot climate issues and construction techniques. he's maybe the best expert on constr. methods across all north america climate zones. sadly he's near retirement and as you can expect it's a huge hole to fill and not many that can.......

He's so far south he's worried about Temples of Doom!

Best Christmas card I ever sent to the family was we were out back sitting on the patio chairs wearing t shirts shorts and flops sipping umbrella drinks with the sun setting behind us.

These cards were all sent to family that was currently just about snowed in. I've never gotten so many email replies telling me in various gestures that I'm number one. With love of course. I miss living in FL.

Honestly. When I read "falling spears" this was my exact mental image:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
was the first full feature length film I watched at the age of 4. Since then, I genuinely expected to encounter booby traps with some regularity during everyday life and have been sorely disappointed (unless phishing scams count, but that's still disappointing).
