What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

First, lunch, a tub of salad and a can of salmon with chips. Pretty much will be my lunch every day until Easter. I also had some candies after, but the kind without gelatin so I would not violate the no meat (or meat byproducts) rule.

Then finished profiling and drilling. When in doubt make another wharncliffe, right? This one will need a fob on the end since, as its a three finger knife.

The one in the middle was just sort of what came to me as I was working the steel, and Wild Willie Wild Willie rightly pointed out it's basically an upsized version of the Skinny Fat Bowie I made a couple examples of a year or so ago. Here's what those looked like:

Also, here is the Charlie Mike Bowie that JB showed me:

Which is the inspiration for this:

Thanks! Yours is coming along as well. I'm not sure how surprised you want to be, like do you want to see it in the thread, or wait until you unbox it? In any case I'm looking to have it ready to ship for Tuesday.

I really like this design of ulu compared to the others I've seen. Nice work!

I'm still looking to purchase a stainless machete replacement. Presently, it looks like the profile choice is a skinny fat Bowie Kukri. Haha.

You can post it in the thread when it’s done, and thanks for the fast build time

You're welcome Corey. Here's what I've gotten through so far today.

Sheath for the Prevail XL Slim next, and then maker's mark on the Ulu and Prevail. Corey, your knife is ... a little bigger than a necker after all. It weighs 4 oz, and would be a good small bushcraft knife. You said you were looking for one of those as well, and this one just sort of evolved into a hybrid that could be carried for a day or two without too much strain, but maybe not all day every day, and large enough to do your small knife stuff in the woods, and of course garden. It's got a white G10 housing for the tang, that super fine 8670 edge that touches hairs right off my arm, and a basket weave Kydex sheath suitable for belt or neck carry. I hope you like it.

Yessir, is there a little clip thingy on the sheath so I can use it on my belt tho? And if not where can I get one

Excellent work David!! That suretouch turned out great on the ulu and looking forward to using.

Thanks again for your work! 😁
