What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

It's been a couple days since I've popped into this thread. Thank you everyone for the kind words!

Are those AEB-L Prevails coming soon?

You mean these?

I just started them this morning. All are near zero ground on the coarse grit belts, and next is clean up.

And I got these finished on Saturday:

They were originally a commission, but alas I made a mistake and used the wrong pin material, so they are no longer spoken for. I'll eventually get around to listing them up for sale, once I go over them with a final inspection.

You must have been reading my mind!
(It looks a lot like a gigantic comic book in there: doesn't it?)

Haha, well I have not learned that skill yet, but the Prevails were just the next thing on the list, until a certain package of handle material showed up, and now there are two little MagnaCutters to finish, once I get confirmation on something. So Prevails still, for now... once I finish my coffee. :)

Prevail in blanks 1/4" AEB-L with radiused spines and medium satin finish (will be refined to fine after the knives are assembled, before marking).

The two small MagnaCut knives are for the same gentleman who ordered the previous five khukuris, and his handle material arrived today for the sixth, and the two small knives. So I ground that khukuri today, and I have to say I am quite pleased to report the grind time was much less on this one than any one of the previous ones, as those last five taught me a few things that I was able to apply this time around.

This is the material:

And I had already gotten the Suretouch cut for the Prevails by the time I switched gears, so looks like tomorrow is going to be a big handle day.

Plan is to have all these ready to go out tomorrow afternoon. Now is sheath time, or at least the beginning thereof. Then maker's mark and sharpening. Should be breeze to get them done and packaged before 3 pm tomorrow, the new time that my mailman will be picking up going forward.
